FUJIFILM instax mini Evo Cinema Review

The FUJIFILM instax mini Evo Cinema has been one of the most questioned about devices I have had to date and quite the talking point at home and when out and about especially when testing it out along with the instax mini Link+ smartphone printer.

This camera also comes with an on board printer and an app which transfers data from the camera to your phone and you can edit shots in there and see all your videos an photos you have taken.

This is a one handed device looks cool and full of switches and dials and the main feautre is the dial that allows you to turn back time giving your videos that retro look we have some samples below so you can see what this is all about. You can pick between the 1920s up to the 2020s on the dial and see the differences with them.

On the side there is the on/off button still and cine and framing button along with the zoom and print options. You can also adjust the lens for more effects and there is a clip on eye piece there. All of this might sound cumbersome but it is not and still looks super cool and again you can print on the go which is neat. On the back is an LCD monitors a naviwheel for adjusting settings and several other buttons one being a back button play button and menu button.

On the front is your adjustable lens your mirror for selfies for photos and videos your flash and the capture button for videos and photos, the clips can be up to 15 seconds for videos only.

After you go through the settings let the nostalgia begin with videos and photos you can replay or look and images and videos on the camera itself or have them auto transfer to your smartphone and do some more like editing and so on, we have some clips to shows you with different years and editing below..

Overall this is a niche camera but fun and looks great, there was some lag during testing and battery life not great but enough for what most will use it for and with USB-C charging it will charge faster than previous cameras and it is a joy to use looks great and a great conversation starter and not forgetting you do not need a separate printer as there is on built in which makes this shine even more.

Mini Evo App

Main Features:

Eras Dial™

The mini Evo Cinema hybrid instant camera features a first for instax™ cameras – the Eras Dial™, which allows users to apply photo effects from 10 different eras to their image – from the grainy, pale tones of the 1930s, to a 1960s effect inspired by 8mm film cameras, to the vibrant colors of the 1980s, and to the sharp, rich imagery of the 2020s. Each era is designed to capture the look and feel of the imagery of that time.

Degree Control Dial

Content created in each era can be fine-tuned with any of the 10 effects from the Degree Control Dial on the lens. By simply rotating the dial to precisely adjust color, contrast, and noise expression – users can create up to 10 creative variations per era.

Frame Switch

Once an era is chosen and the intensity of the era is selected via the Degree Control Dial, users can continue to personalize by adding a frame to every shot or video clip utilizing the Frame Switch. There’s a frame for every era, each paying homage to the characteristics, media, and playback devices that defined that time.

CINE/STILL Modes

Users can easily switch between “CINE” and ”STILL” modes to capture either a video or photo, respectively, with ease. In CINE mode, users can shoot a series of clips – up to 15 seconds in total – and the camera will stitch them into one smooth video automatically. Via the free, downloadable instax mini EvoTM smartphone app, users can connect via Bluetooth® and extend video creations to 30 seconds by adding or reordering clips.

Zoom Lever

The mini Evo Cinema features built-in digital zoom. The tactile Zoom Lever lets you dial up the intimacy of the shot or pull back for greater scope and more atmosphere.

“My Gallery”

Within the instax mini Evo™ app, the My Gallery section provides users a secure place to store the images and videos they create, segmented into categories including Favorites, Printed, Video, Photo, Projects. Through this function, users can also save printed images digitally to their smartphone’s camera roll, finished with the iconic instaxTM mini border.

Video Printing

Users can access videos via a one-of-a-kind instax™ mini instant photo printed with a QR code ready to be scanned and played back on a smartphone. Video is captured as standard at 600 x 800, and with the 2020 Era selection is captured at 1080 x 1440.

Timeless Design

With sleek black, vertical grip design (inspired by Fujifilm’s “FUJICA Single-8”, an 8mm camera introduced in 1965); and analog-inspired details, this hybrid instant camera is meticulously crafted for those who appreciate tactile functions alongside beauty and elegance.

Additional camera features include:

  • Remote shooting capability (via app)

Handling Device Insurance Renewals: Sell iPhone Tips

In our fast-paced world, where technology evolves faster than the blink of an eye, the allure of upgrading to the latest iPhone model is undeniable. Yet, the process of selling your current device and handling insurance renewals can be daunting. But fear not, for this guide will ease your journey through the maze of device insurance renewals while sharing some golden tips on how to sell your iPhone effectively.

Understanding Device Insurance

Device insurance acts as a safety net, protecting your investment from unforeseen mishaps. As your insurance renewal date approaches, it’s essential to strategize your next steps. Picture this: a chess player, deep in thought, mapping out their moves several steps ahead. This is the mindset you need when dealing with device insurance. Carefully examining your insurance policy’s terms and conditions can save you from headaches later on. Are you covered for accidental damage, theft, or loss? These are crucial considerations.

Strategize Your Insurance Renewal

When it comes to insurance renewals, strategizing is key. Imagine a seasoned traveler plotting their route through an unfamiliar city, ensuring every turn leads them closer to their destination. Before your renewal date, review your current plan and assess whether it still meets your needs. Have you recently upgraded your device, or are you planning to sell your iPhone soon? If so, it might be time to explore more comprehensive or cost-effective options.

Once you have a clear picture of your insurance needs, it’s time to shop around. Compare policies from different providers, examining each one’s coverage details and pricing. Your goal is to find a plan that offers the best value for money, providing peace of mind without breaking the bank.

The Art of Selling Your iPhone

Now, let’s delve into the art of selling iphone. It’s not just about finding a buyer; it’s about making the most out of your sale. If you’ve been wondering, where can I sell my iphone quickly, First, ensure your device is in pristine condition. A well-maintained phone fetches a better price, so consider investing time in a thorough cleaning. Check for any scratches or dents and address them if possible. An iPhone with a flawless exterior and smooth functionality is irresistible to potential buyers.

Next, conduct some research to determine the current market value of your iPhone model. Websites and platforms dedicated to buying and selling used electronics can provide valuable insights. Setting a competitive yet fair price is crucial in attracting prospective buyers.

Captivating Buyers with Your Listing

Your listing is your pitch, your opportunity to captivate potential buyers. Remember the last time you were bleary-eyed, scrolling through countless listings, searching for the one that stood out? That’s what you want your listing to do. Start with eye-catching photos that highlight your iPhone’s best features. A picture is worth a thousand words, but a great picture is priceless.

Craft a compelling description, emphasizing the iPhone’s condition, any accessories included, and why it’s a worthwhile investment. Use language that evokes emotion, painting a picture of the joy and convenience your iPhone has brought into your life and could bring to another’s.

Choosing the Right Platform to Sell

Selecting the right platform to sell your iPhone is akin to choosing the perfect venue for an event. You want a place that attracts the right crowd and ensures a safe, smooth transaction. Popular platforms like eBay, Craigslist, or specialized trade-in websites are excellent starting points. Each has its own set of benefits and drawbacks, so evaluate them carefully.

eBay offers a vast audience but involves listing fees. Craigslist provides local selling opportunities but requires vigilance against scams. Trade-in websites offer convenience but might not offer the highest price. Choose the platform that aligns with your priorities, whether it’s maximizing profit, ensuring security, or simply convenience.

Timing Your Sale for Maximum Impact

Timing plays a vital role in selling your iPhone effectively. The release of a new iPhone model often triggers a surge in demand for the previous ones. If you’re planning to sell your iPhone, timing your sale around this period can be advantageous. Be prepared to act swiftly once a new model is announced, as the market can become saturated quickly.

Handling Final Transactions

When you’ve found a buyer, handle the final transactions with care. Ensure you have a secure payment method in place and confirm the buyer’s details before shipping your iPhone. Packaging is also crucial; protect your device from potential damage during transit with bubble wrap or a padded envelope. Transparency is key, so communicate clearly with the buyer throughout the process.

By following these tips, you can navigate the often overwhelming world of device insurance renewals and sell your iPhone with confidence. Remember, whether it’s strategizing for the best insurance plan, carefully crafting your listing, or timing your sale for maximum impact, each step requires attention and care. Embrace the opportunity to upgrade while ensuring your current device finds a new home, bringing joy and convenience to its next owner.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Review

The Google Pixel 10 Pro is one of their latest slew of devices on the market today and probably the best choice out of the lot though I yet to try the fold which some see as overpriced.

Regardless of that I have a Pixel phone as one of my daily drivers all year round coupled with the watch the earbuds and many other items at home and works a great ecosystem. AI though I think is where the Pixel 10 Pro shines this year with lots of extras on board alongside good cameras a UI experience and overall a smooth phone to use even for heavy multitaskers like me.

AI is a word we cant get away from these days however this is good and bad depending on how you use it and for photos it is excellent and with fixing images and giving you the best result and as they say the best camera you have is the one in your pocket.

Walkthrough of the Google Pixel 10 Pro

Magic Cue. The right info, right when you need it.

Magic Cue brings a new level of personalised intelligence and helpfulness to Pixel. It can help connect the dots across your digital life by anticipating your needs and proactively suggesting relevant information and helpful actions, based on the context on your phone.2 Calling your airline?

Magic Cue finds your flight details as soon as you dial. Friend asking for your Airbnb address? It automatically retrieves the info for quick sharing. Magic Cue is powered by our custom-built Google Tensor G5 chip, featuring cutting-edge, on-device AI that gives features the ability to process and understand relevant information and deliver helpful, proactive assistance.

Transform photos in the blink of AI.

The Pixel 10 series makes it effortless to capture an amazing photo every time, offering AI-powered features and magical editing tools in the Pixel Camera. The all-new Camera Coach, powered by Gemini models built right into the camera, can read the scene, offer you suggestions and help you find the best angle and lighting. It can even suggest the best modes to use, helping unleash the creative photographer in you. Asides photos in general AI in embedded in to the Pixel 10 pro and more or less system wide and Gemini is one feature I use quite often now and can be helpful in many ways which I use on my chromebook and Pixel devices

Design and Display

The Pixel 10 Pro has a similar design language to its predecessor, featuring the distinctive visor camera bar on the back. It’s polisheded finish with  spacecraft-grade aluminum frame and a silky matte glass back, all protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Buttons are tactile it does not rock on the table when flat like most phones today with big humps.

The Pixel 10 Pro has a  6.3-inch LTPO OLED screen with a dynamic refresh rate that can go from 1Hz all the way up to 120Hz. The peak brightness is said to reach an impressive 3300 nits, which would make it one of the brightest displays on the market, ensuring excellent visibility even in direct sunlight.

Performance and AI

The biggest change under the hood is the new Tensor G5 chip which is major upgrade over the Tensor G4, promising faster CPU and GPU performance, which runs a bit more smoother, more responsive user experience for everything from everyday tasks to mobile gaming and as a poweruser of phones I seen no issues to date with what I do.

The Tensor G5 powers the  next-level AI features on which this phone is more or less selling point is enabling new features like “Magic Cue,” which proactively offers relevant information based on your apps and usage and also allows you to edit photos by telling the phone to do so.

Camera System

The Pixel 10 Pro camera array consists a 50MP wide lens, a 48MP ultrawide with Macro Focus, and a 48MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. The combination of hardware and the Tensor G5’s new Image Signal Processor (ISP) the suite of tools also on the Pixel 10 Prio is plenty for editing but check out the image and video gallery below for more and you deciide I found it much better this time round especially with night photography and video.

Photos and Videos taken with the Pixel 10 Pro

Final Thoughts

Overall the new Pixel 10 is a powerful tool for those wanting to engage in AI more and for me not a huge fan of the AI buzzword but it has me trying new things using the AI the cameras are great and overall I am impressed with what I have here and it will be staying put as my daily driver until the next model drops which I look forward too.

AKASO 360 Action Camera Review

The AKASO 360 Action Camera is their latest product on the market which is ideal for content creators and more in a small package that is portable and comes well equipped with goods on board.

There is also a selfie stick you can get with a tripod built in so this can be used in many scenarios at home and out and about and of course getting content for whatever it is you do personally.

In the box you get a nice pouch to store it in when not in use you also get two batteries which is great as most similar products come with one and slip in the option to get another battery and you also get a lens cloth and USB-C cable, you will need an SD card here which is not in the box which is standard with most equipment similar today most have these at home anyway and they are not expensive these days but having one in the box would have been nice.

The unit itself is robust with two camera lenses a door for your SD card and battery and has a tripod mount hole on the underside, there is a power key on the right side the camera door on the left alongside the USB-C port for charging the device it has a nice texture all round and the final important part on the device is the 2.29 inch touchscreen where you can check out all your settings and more which is also mirrored in the app itself. Digital Photography Tools That Will Make Your Photos Stand Out

Digital photography harmoniously combines art, science, and magic to create extraordinary imagery. As the competition intensifies in visual content creation, upgrading digital photography tools and understanding how to maximize these tools can set your work apart. This guide explores various resources that can significantly enhance your photographic practice, from powerful editing apps to smart accessories.

Editing Software: Bring Your Photos to Life

The magic of digital photography isn’t a stop-and-go process; it’s a continuous undertaking that starts with a well-thought-out selection of the photography subject up to the pinnacle — post-processing. It’s in the post-processing stage where the height of photography exists through the use of photo editing tools, where Adobe Lightroom is among the top options. This photo editing tool from Adobe is acclaimed for being user-friendly, incredibly powerful, and perfect for everything from color correction to detailed retouching. Seasoned photographers know that a little editing using Lightroom presets can revolutionize digital photography outputs. Presets are pre-configured editing settings that help you apply a certain style or mood to your photos with just one click. This innovation saves you tons of time while ensuring your work looks polished and cohesive. In turn, it can speed up your workflow and achieve consistent, professional-quality edits, bringing your digital photography prowess to a whole new level.

External Lenses for Smartphones: Expand Your Vision

Smartphones are making a noticeable entrance in digital photography, gaining recognition from various competition-winning entries from smartphone photographers. If you’re among the many whose inner photographer has been awakened by the smartphone, you’d be glad to know that external lenses can seriously up your game. Clip-on lenses can give you wide-angle views, extreme close-ups, or dramatic fisheye effects. With brands like Moment and Olloclip offering high-quality lenses that attach easily to your phone, your mobile photography gains a professional edge. Whether you’re traveling, exploring nature, or doing a casual photoshoot, these tiny, portable tools offer big possibilities and ensure you don’t miss opportunities for taking exhibit-worthy snaps.

Tripods and Stabilizers: Capture Crisp, Clear Shots

Blurry images and awkward angles due to last-second shaking can ruin an otherwise perfect shot. Preventing these photography mishaps necessitates using a good tripod or stabilizer. For DSLRs, lightweight carbon fiber tripods are ideal for portability and durability. If you’re more of a smartphone photographer, handheld gimbals like the DJI Osmo Mobile keep your videos buttery smooth and your stills razor-sharp. A stable setup not only improves image quality but also opens up creative possibilities like long-exposure photography or time-lapse videos.

Lighting Tools: Following the Light

Like moths drawn to a lamp’s light, strategic lighting can have the same mesmerizing effect when taking a photograph. While natural light is fantastic, its availability is limited when you have so much photo inspiration going. This is where you need a little help from lighting tools. Ring lights, softboxes, and portable LED panels give you more control over brightness, softness, and direction of light, which is especially useful for portraits and product photography. Some lighting setups even sync with your camera to adjust settings automatically, ensuring perfect illumination every time. Don’t underestimate the power of good lighting; it can turn a decent photo into an awe-inspiring one.

The camera is only one of the key tools behind a fascinating photograph. Great photography stems from the collective contributions of the photographer, camera, tools, and accessories to tell a story and showcase a unique vision. Investing in even a few of these tools can significantly elevate your work, helping your photos not just look good but truly stand out. Start experimenting, keep learning, and capture amazing moments with the proper tools to take pictures that are worth a novel instead of a thousand words.

instax WIDE Evo Hybrid Camera Review

The instax WIDE Evo Hybrid Camera has been the latest camera I have been testing over the last few weeks and as always with instax it is a step back in time but current and if you are a fan of all things nostalgia you know the drill with these cameras we have been reviewing for some years now.

This camera again is bug but so what, might not be ideal to put in your bag but doable for some if you are one to take photos when out with your friends and family it is a talking point when taken out so and people do not realise instant photos can still be done like rather than take one on your phone have this camera at hand and get your photo there and then.

There is lots going on with the WIDE Evo hybrid when it comes to features and several buttons to mess around with for me an overkill I am a point and shoot but having played around with this I can see why these features are there and again I am not one to edit photos once taken either but there is features galore all listed below and the editing options at hand.

With the big screen you see more and you also have wide angle shooting with this camera it is pretty cool all the options here and the array of buttons to play around with is a photographers dream. You have your focus lens,  You have ten lens effects and ten film effects to begin with the dial on both sides you can scroll through them all we demo all this in the video review and also some of this in the unboxing video

There is a button up top for film style too with cool effects and then you have the lens to chose effects that suit you then you move down to the navi key and other buttons under the LCD display for more options and of course in image editing options, there is so much here to do for the real photography enthusiast. You have a dedicated shutter key this time it is not a button but a lever I would call it and below is the wide angle switch and you can notice the difference here unlike you can even on some phones today. You get your power on/off dial too this time rather than a button.

The stand out feature probably is the print crank which takes you back to days of old here and again people were somewhat looking at me funny when I took it out one night explaining to them how this works and what these cameras do.

You can add a micro SD card if you want and again print images from this and connect to the app if you wish and of course connect to their printers which is also cool. as for the image quality it is decent you can load them on to your laptop if you like and scroll through them there or the screen on the camera itself you have the best of both worlds here you can also connect to your phone and share.

WIDE Evo adds Degree Control, which allows the user to determine the degree to which each lens effect is applied to their image.

Enhance The Look Of The Image

WIDE Evo offers 6 film styles to customize images even further, with options including normal, a cinematic look with black bars across the top and bottom of the image, a classic film strip look, a traditional date/time stamp format, a contact sheet look, or a vintage collodion process effect.

Selfies, Storage, and More

WIDE Evo also features a 3.5-inch LCD Monitor on the back of the camera to allow users to view added effects and edits and is supported by a built-in Lithium-ion battery which enables the camera to print up to 100 images per charge, depending on the specific use case. A Micro SD card slot (Micro SD Card sold separately) ensures there’s plenty of room to store additional images for later enjoyment (approximately 45 images can be stored in the camera’s internal memory), while the Selfie Mirror helps users nail selfies every time.

Exercise your creative control with five film styles (plus standard output). From cinematic to date stamp to film strip, each one delivers a unique analog-like effect burnt into the image to set your pictures apart.

Print Crank

Reminiscent of an analog experience, rotate the print crank located on the side of the camera to begin the printing of your latest creations.

Shutter Lever

Press the shutter lever down and feel the satisfying, responsive ‘click’ of the shutter as each photo is taken. Want to ‘lock’ the focus? Half press the lever.

A premium lens needs a premium lens cap to protect it when not in use. Which is why the instax WIDE Evo™ comes with a handy detachable lens cap.

Wide-angle Switch

Effortlessly switch from wide-angle scenes to intimate moments using the wide-angle switch (handily positioned on the front, so you don’t have to take your eye off the shot).

Easy scrolling

On the left you have the Lens Effect Dial, on the right the Film Effect Dial. Both satisfyingly manual. Both easy to scroll through. Each perfect for turning the ordinary into extraordinary.

Degree Control Dial

Circling the lens you’ll find the Degree Control Dial, a ‘disc’ that your fingers can glide round, helping you change the degree of your shot to discover your exact vision.

Selfie Mirror

Some only see what’s in front of them. Not you. The selfie mirror, positioned on the front of this hybrid camera, lets you capture what’s usually behind the camera… you!

USB-C Charging

Unleash the full potential of the instax WIDE Evo™ by keeping it fully charged. With a USB-Type C port, plugging in for power couldn’t be easier.

LCD Screen

The high-resolution LCD screen on the rear gives you complete accuracy – what you see is what you print – helping you turn your vision into a physical, WIDE-format photo.

Tripod Mount

Fully equipped with a threaded hole, the instax WIDE Evo™ is tripod-ready. Useful for remote shooting, night-time shots or composites that require that extra steady ‘hand’.

Printed images, shared

For safe keeping

Insert a microSD card (sold separately) into the microSD card slot to back up your images – perfect for ultimate peace of mind, and ideal for those who want to ‘carry’ even more photographs.

Prints. From your camera roll

Not all photos are lucky enough to be shot on the instax WIDE Evo™. Which is why this hybrid instant camera also accepts shots from your smartphone, before dutifully printing them.

Inspiration at your fingertips

Explore the Discover Feed tab in-app for a daily boost of inspiration. A place where you can see and download the settings from other users’ images, ready to be used when the shot calls for it.

Social zone

Instantly share your WIDE format images via your smartphone. Pair the instax WIDE Evo™ with your smartphone, save your instax™ photos as digitally framed shots, then post your favourites to your social in a variety of creative templates.

Conclusion

Over this is a really cool camera with lots of features on board and takes decent photos, with the ability to share and print said photos via your phone or compatible printer makes it even more enjoyable to use and is a great talking point when taken out in a crowd.

Bumble tackles AI-generated photos and videos by adding a new option to report fake profiles

AI-generated images are becoming a growing part of our online interactions. Evolving from photo modification trends such as the use of filters or FaceTune, the surge in the use of realistic, digitally created images naturally creates concerns around authenticity, especially when people dating are looking to meet someone new.

In fact, a recent Bumble survey found that 71% of Gen-Z and Millennial respondents felt there should be limits to using AI-generated profile pictures and bios on dating apps.

That’s why Bumble has now introduced a new option under the ‘Fake Profiles” reporting menu that enables people to report profiles they come across that may be using AI-generated photos and videos, helping them assess the authenticity of profiles and connections to support a safer experience for everyone.

This feature is the latest addition from Bumble to best help people find healthy and meaningful connections. Earlier this year, Bumble also rolled out Deception Detector, an AI tool that helps identify spam, scam, and fake profiles. Within the first two months, Bumble saw member reports of spam, scam, and fake profiles reduced by 45%.

“An essential part of creating a space to build meaningful connections is removing any element that is misleading or dangerous. We are committed to continually improving our technology to ensure that Bumble is a safe and trusted dating environment. By introducing this new reporting option, we can better understand how bad actors and fake profiles are using AI disingenuously so our community feels confident in making connections.”Risa Stein, VP of Product at Bumble
