Ringke Google Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL Onyx cases review

The Google Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL are my current daily drivers the last while now and the first thing to do is pick up a case and the next in our case lineup is from Ringke for both devices from the Onyx range.

We have done several other brands and more to come so stay tuned for more cases for your new shiny Pixel 9 series over the next while.

The Ringke Onyx range are simple and to the point and look well on the phone giving you extra grip all round, these are not Magsafe compatible however do a good job regardless.

There is a tapered lip up front meaning you can easily navigate your phones screen and place it face down on any flat surface and on the rear the camera bar is also protected really well with the camera bar recessed in the case and again stops it getting marked and again lets you put it down on a flat surface in confidence, the keys are tactile too and work well as does wireless charging and you can also use a lanyard strap if you wish to do so.

Overall these cases do a good job and will give you some peace of mind should you drop your device and not expensive either.

Tech Review – Tronsmart Onyx Pure

The Tronsmart Onyx Pure are the latest earbuds now on offer from the brand that delivers affordable tech and quality audio, the earbuds are a standard look with a clean finish and do a good job in the audio department for the price so lets look some more into the earbuds.

The look and design is a fairly standard affair here clean and simple in a plastic housing and all looks well and the concave area where you will control the earbuds works really well and works each time virtually erasing all kinds of false controls which can often happen with earbuds.

The fit well and are an average sized earbud that will not protrude too much when fitted, tis may again be different per person as all our ears are different, once secured with the right tips you are good to go they are solid and block out external noise quite well too.

The controls as mentioned work well we have these split on both sides as expected from tronsmart but it is a simple affair with three taps being the most which in this case is to change the EQ on the left and activate your voice assistant on the right we go through all this in the video review below so check that out.

When it comes to sound they do a decent job and for the price this is taken into consideration, overall there is nice bass here, this is obtained via the left earbud, there is no app access but the EQ setting makes up for it, from my usual testing the highs lows and mids are fine in all genres and for video music gaming and more they held up well not getting tinny on maxed out volume either and no lag latency.

Calls are also fine on these not the best quality in the world they are clear but again take the price into consideration and the overall package here they do a good job for the money and a bargain for the price.

Features

  • Dynamic Driver + Balanced Armature.
  • 3 EQ Modes.
  • Clear Call.
  • One Key Recovery.
  • Up to 32 Hours of Playtime.
  • IPX5 Water Resistant.

Tech Review – Tronsmart Onyx Ace Pro

The latest earbuds from Tronsmart are the all new Onyx Ace Pro which might look familiar to those who are tronsmart fans, the case is identical to the Onyx Ace and so are the earbuds but beefed up somewhat, Tronsmart are a leading brand when it comes to affordable tech and over the years we have been testing all their earbuds so we had plenty of time ahead of their release to check these new earbuds out and see what is on offer.

The packing is as expected from the brand with their well labelled box and orange take, the same applies when you first open the package, you can see more of this and the full video review and how to operate the earbuds below, stock image reviews do not give the product any justice or context so do check it out.

Comfort and fit

These fit well as the previous model did and are really light they have a stem which might not suit all however fine with me, you will forget they are there after a few minutes use, there is no tips as they are a one piece product and it will be a one size fits all here but they are comfortable and look well.

Controls

Again you have touch controls here and they work fine, in general Tronsmart are good in this department, play and pause is tap twice on any earbud, skip track you tap and hold for 2 seconds on the left and reverse the same on the right, Volume up is tap once on the left and down the same on the right, voice assistant is tap three times on the left quickly and the right side is where you have the gaming mode option by tapping again three times quickly, calls are tap twice either side to answer and end and tap and hold for two seconds either side.

Sound

They sound great as expected, nice and loud with some nice bass, however there is no app access which would of been nice, tronsmart have a good app which works with some earbuds, highs lows and mids are fine too good direction and great on gaming, calls are good too nice and crisp and for watching movies and all the rest is good overall, music is great too and nothing overlaps even when maxed out on full volume. The earbuds come with 13mm composite polymer driver units combined with lossless Qualcomm aptX adaptive decoding, there is no auto play and pause present here.

Overall

These are an affordable pair of earbuds from the brand and give you all the basics and more, they are stylish comfortable and give a good audio experience and for gamers it an even better option to have these at your disposal. See the video review for more below.

Tech Review – Tronsmart Onyx Prime Dual-Driver Wireless Earbuds

The Tronsmart Onyx Prime are the latest on offer from the company who gives us great tech at really affordable prices and with a very saturated market it is hard to compete these days but with high end features now in low priced earbuds the competition is really tough, I have tried and test a big selection of the range from tronsmart and these new earbuds have something special and by that I mean for the price you pay you get it all for less and to top it off they sound great, in fact they are now in my new top 5 going into 2022.

Design, build and fit

These have a newer design only a few have right now yet keeping away from the industrial look and they are really nice with a twist, they have a secure fit with wings built in and come in a glossy back finish, the touch area works really well and controls work with no problems at all. They might seem a bit bigger than others out there but do not let that put you off, they come packed with dual drivers.

Sound

These are simply great it has to be said and better than expected in fact they are up there with the highly priced earbuds alongside their app, The app makes these shine with many options to play with to get that custom sound for your requirements and trust me they deliver here, highs lows and mids great, great bass and vocals and nice volume levels too, these did not disappoint me at all and it is an easy win here for the consumer no matter what flavour of music they want, there is also a gaming mode which gives them even more scope.

Calls are fine both ends here however you cant use these individually which is not a huge deal for me most earbuds are the same here and it is not a feature set I look out for in particular but some people do. Battery is also fine here and above average in most cases though the ususal caveats apply when using full volume and so on..
