OneOdio Studio Max 1 Wireless Over-Ear DJ Headphones Review

The OneOdio Studio Max 1 Wireless Over-Ear DJ Headphones are a pair of ove-ear cans that impress from a listening experience via a mobile in my tests as I have no DJ equipment they have been tested on both Android and iOS and with not having a companion app which is dissapointing they still deliver on audio and its all good.

The build quality is great here and not too heavy eiather with plus cups that cover the ears nicely and block out much of the external noise with not having ANC listed on the specs, having said that if you are at home and turn these up to the max you will hear NOTHING!!

These also fold up and you get a nice carry bag inside along with all the extra cables and a dongle and they have ultra low latency which is 20ms with wired connectivity via 3.5mm/6.35mm jacks for instruments like guitars and keyboards and so on which again I do not own.

The OneOdio Studio Max 1 are equipped with 50mm drivers featuring OFC copper-clad coils, these headphones deliver deep bass and crystal-clear highs, lows and mids are fine and all genres tested in my usual test run these did not dissapoint even down to to hearing more intricate details than you would not expect to which was a win for me and when the volume is turned up to the max you will be impressed and I can only imagine how they would sound in a DJ set up and so on. Calls also sounded great during my testing and clear both ends again maxed out volume which is how I prefer to use my earbuds and headphones.

There is some controls on the right cup being your power on/off volume up and down skip and reverse tracks and play and pause, there is also the option to change modes, there is 4 in total and access to your voice assistant and the keys work really well. you also have your headphone socket and USB-C charge port.

Introba Opens New Dublin Office, Plans to Create 30 Sustainability-Focused Jobs

Introba, a global building engineering and consulting firm, announced the opening of its new office in Dublin, marking the company’s first location in Ireland. With support from the Irish government through IDA Ireland, Introba plans to create 30 new roles over the next five years, many of which will focus on sustainability and climate-focused engineering services.

The new Dublin-based team will support Ireland’s transition to a low-carbon economy, aligning with national climate goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and reaching net zero by 2050. Initially, the team will provide sustainability advisory, mechanical, and electrical engineering services to institutional, cultural, commercial, and science and technology sectors.

“Introba’s expansion into Dublin is a natural extension of our mission to engineer a better, more sustainable world,” said David Glossop, Managing Director for the UK and Europe. “We’re proud to bring our expertise to Ireland and to support ambitious national goals around the built environment and emissions reduction.”

Introba’s Dublin office is led by Adam McLoughlin, Director – Ireland, who brings more than 19 years of international experience across Canada, the UK, and the Middle East. He is joined by John Moore and Padraic Greed, both of whom bring deep experience in building trusted client relationships and leading successful project delivery. Their shared commitment to exceeding expectations will play a key role in establishing Introba’s presence in the Irish market.

The team’s presence in Dublin also strengthens Introba’s relationship with related brand, TYLin, a global, full-service engineering firm specializing in infrastructure solutions such as bridges, highways, transit, and facilities. TYLin is a leading brand within a global alliance of consulting and engineering firms, known for its technical expertise, local knowledge, and forward-looking insights. Ireland ranks among Europe’s most affordable countries to start a business

For anyone thinking of going freelance or launching their own small business, new research from Europe’s second-largest neobank, bunq, reveals that Ireland is one of the most affordable countries in Europe to get started. Among the top 10 EU economies analysed, Ireland stands out as a highly attractive destination for entrepreneurs and digital nomads looking to kick off their next venture.

Low Entry Costs

Ireland saw a big boost in entrepreneurship in 2024, with 23,384 new businesses starting up – a 5.5% jump from the year before. That includes everything from limited companies to sole traders and partnerships. It was actually the second busiest year for new business registrations in over a decade – only 2021, right after the pandemic, saw more. A key factor behind this growth is Ireland’s low financial barriers that present a highly attractive environment for emerging business ventures. With a nominal fee of €50 charged by the Companies Registration Office (CRO) to register a business officially, combined with a €1 minimum capital requirement and an average business bank account setup cost of €7.17, Ireland remains a popular destination for entrepreneurs compared to other European countries giving self-starters a true head start.

Before professional advice and excluding tax advisor fees, potential staffing costs, and other overheads these mandatory government and basic setup costs total just €58.17 – which makes it on the third place in the European comparison, right after Greece and Portugal. Even though not legally required for setting up a business, the costs of tax advice in Ireland are fairly low with an average hourly rate of €50. By factoring in an average of 15 hours of tax support, the total projected costs for starting a business would increase to €808.17.

How Ireland Compares: A European Snapshot

While Greece (€287) and Portugal (€751) offer the lowest startup costs, Ireland’s total of €808.17 is competitive. In stark contrast are countries like Germany (€26.266) and Italy (€13.512), where LLC’s face significantly higher initial expenses, largely due to mandatory capital requirements. Notably, Ireland also compares favourably on the cost of essential tax advice (€750 for 15 hours), sitting well below countries like France (€3.300) and Austria (€3.000). For comparison, the UK’s post-Brexit startup costs are broadly similar, with a £50 registration fee and no minimum capital requirement, but business banking and tax advisory fees can run higher.

Ireland still tops the list with lowest tax rate

With its remarkably low corporation tax rate of 12.5%, Ireland offers an unbeatable advantage for businesses aiming to set up within the EU. This rate is notably the lowest in the study and compares very favorably to the UK’s tiered tax system, which varies from 19% to 25% based on profits. This factor, combined with the low initial setup costs, positions Ireland as a hidden gem for startups and expanding companies.

Bianca Zwart, Chief Strategy Officer at bunq, comments on the research: “Starting something new takes courage, but where you start can make all the difference. Our research shows that in the right environment – like Ireland’s – ambition meets opportunity in a very real, tangible way.”

Certa launches new lower carbon biofuel for home heating

Fuel supplier Certa has become the first Irish operator to launch a new lower carbon blended biofuel for the home heating market as it continues to pursue its strategy of delivering cleaner energy solutions for domestic customers.

The company, which is part of DCC plc, has said that its new fuel could enable each of the 700,000 Irish households who currently use liquid fuel heaters to lower their home heating carbon emissions by up to 20%. Ireland’s residential sector currently accounts for 10% of national emissions.

The newly launched biofuel comprises a 20%/80% blend of HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil), which is produced from waste plant matter, and kerosene. Householders can use this instead of home heating oil directly without any need to replace or modify their boilers.

The new lower carbon fuel will be rolled out across Certa’s national network of 23 home heating depots, starting this week with its depot in Tallaght which will supply customers in south and west Dublin and north county Kildare.

Kerosene is the most common fuel used in home heating systems in Ireland. Certa supplies almost 100,000 customers with 265 million litres of home heating fuel each year. The average household consumes between 1,000 and 2,000 litres of home heating fuel per annum.

The new product launch will be supported by a full marketing campaign across print, digital and out of home to promote and further encourage customers to switch to the new blended biofuel.

Orla Stevens, Managing Director, Certa Ireland said:

Our goal at Certa is to make it easy for customers to transition to cleaner energy solutions that reduce their carbon footprint. We are leading the way in introducing solutions that are accessible and affordable. Switching to this lower carbon HVO-Kerosene fuel is easy. There is no requirement to upgrade your home heating boiler and it can be done with zero disruption to the household”.

“We are delighted to be the first fuel supplier in Ireland to launch a new lower-carbon fuel for home heating. We will empower our customers to make positive and impactful environmental changes in their own homes and to help Ireland achieve its longer-term ambition of net zero by 2050.”

The launch follows Certa’s success in attracting diesel drivers to switch to HVO to reduce their carbon emissions by up to 90%. Last year, it became the first fuel operator to open a fully-fledged HVO fuel station in Liffey Valley and has since become the first to offer HVO at 10 of its forecourts. One in five of Certa’s network of 49 unmanned, pay@pump forecourts now offers HVO alongside other fuels.

Certa’s commitment to making new cleaner energy solutions more accessible and affordable has also led to its acquisition of leading solar and renewable energy specialists Alternative Energy Ireland. AEI offers Ireland’s only cashback guarantee if the solar system does not perform as promised, providing customers with financial compensation for the amount of the loss concerned.

Certa has also helped a growing number of businesses and events to lower their emissions and to transition to HVO as a renewable fuel, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), John Sisk & Son Ltd., Dublin Airport, Dublin Port, The National Ploughing Championships, the Irish Open and Bloom.

The company is one of the first HVO suppliers in Ireland to be awarded International Sustainability Carbon Certification (ISCC) which provides full transparency and traceability throughout the supply chain. This certification enables Certa to create and assign Proof of Sustainability (POS) certification to the businesses that it supplies with HVO.

What are Low Cost Carriers (LCCs) and its impact

Low cost carriers, known as LCCs, have changed how people fly. They offer simple flights without any extras, which has made flying available to more people. LCCs have passenger-oriented flying plans with the least cost and the best facilities. Here, we will look at what LCCs are and how they’ve changed aviation. Let’s get in!

What are Low Cost Carriers (LCCs)?

Low-cost carriers are airlines that target low expenses and basic services. Thus, they are much more affordable than full-service airlines. The business model of these airlines is commonly based on economy class and airline services. All aspects of LCC operations are designed to cut costs and pass those savings on to passengers.

In LCC’s pricing strategy, passengers pay for additional services besides the basic cost of airfare, including checking in baggage, ticket selection, and in-flight meals. This customizable approach has proved really helpful for travelers.

Impact of Low Cost Carriers (LCCs)

Following are some major impacts of LCCs on the airline industry and travelers:

Increased Air Travel Accessibility

LCCs have played a leading role in air travel innovation by making it cheaper and more accessible. The low rates introduced by LCCs have encouraged budget-conscious travelers, students, and families to visit places they really want.

In turn, air travel has thus evolved to not only be a luxury but also a mainstream means of transportation for ordinary people. Moreover, with the arrival of technology, you can easily track your flight details using the flight tracker page. This ensures a smooth journey.

Market Expansion and Tourism Growth

LCCs have played an important role in airline market expansion and tourism growth. By offering affordable services and delivering services to routes that may be ignored by full-service airlines, LCCs have played a major role in increasing tourism by opening up new and old destinations.

In addition, LCCs represent the airline industry segment that operates from secondary airports, uplifting the regional economy and businesses outside of the major metropolitan areas. Furthermore, with efficient flight information updates, LCCs ensure travelers are well-informed, enhancing their overall experience.

Competitive Pressure on Traditional Airlines

Low-cost carriers have brought about competition, forcing full-service airlines to rethink their existing business models and cost structures. This complex competition directly benefits customers, pushes down airfares, and improves overall standards across the airline industry.

Operational Efficiency Improvements

LCCs are known for their operational efficiency and expense-cutting steps, which enable them to work profitably even with lower costs. LCCs focus on resource efficiency in every value chain link, such as improving aircraft utilization and adopting lean staffing models.

Tech Review – Edifier Hecate GX05 Ultra-Low Latency TWS gaming earbuds

The Edifier Hecate GX05 Ultra-Low Latency TWS gaming earbuds are a product that looks like you would find in a sci-fri film and that is not a bad thing either so for the looks alone they get a ten out of ten there in my book but what else do these have and who are they for exactly.

Ok so out of the box these look great in every respect, the look and feel is screaming premium here and that includes the package in a nice solid hard case with a nice lock thrown in, inside you get your cables tips dust caps and a nice carry pouch to store it all in so another win here.

As described up top the case is one to behold with a weighty feel and a nice solid click everytime you turn it this is a piece of art and one of if not the best cases I have seen to date. Also on the underside of the case is a MFB to control the RGB lights which gives a nice effect, these is also lights on the earbuds which can be turned on/off.

The earbuds themselves are also slightly different with their shape but fit well in the ears and look good there is a decent seal and there extra tips provided in the box there is no ANC here or access to the connect app which is disappointing however these are not aimed at music and I get it but still would of been nice so I will let them away with it this time.

The earbuds as mentioned are for gamers with dual connectivity via BT or the dongle provided in the box went with the dongle route and tested on Xbox PS5 and of course my phone, I am not one to spend hours gaming but when I do I like to have good quality tech to do so and these do well in that respect but also in fairness not so bad on listening to music in general.

You have some controls of course but missing some features again these are features more so related to music you can manage call on them you can also manage the lights the modes, play and pause and skip and reverse tracks which is fine. There is no voice assistant or volume control on them.

On the gaming from they set out what they aim to do putting you right in the game you are playing not missing a beat, you will find it hard to get zero latency on earbuds but we are getting there and these are a step in the right direction.

Sound is great powered by Hi-Res Audio with 10mm drivers on board under the Hecate name which is Edifiers professional audio brand for gamers and a new one to me too, on the music from highs lows and mids all came across fine and some bass in there there was no latency on audio on listening to my usual test tracks the audio was crisp and clear and you do have modes to change the audio like gaming and music mode, On a gaming front as mentioned it is excellent putting you in the centre not missing footsteps directional sound and so on making it an enjoyable experience overall.
