OneOdio Studio Max 1 Wireless Over-Ear DJ Headphones Review

The OneOdio Studio Max 1 Wireless Over-Ear DJ Headphones are a pair of ove-ear cans that impress from a listening experience via a mobile in my tests as I have no DJ equipment they have been tested on both Android and iOS and with not having a companion app which is dissapointing they still deliver on audio and its all good.

The build quality is great here and not too heavy eiather with plus cups that cover the ears nicely and block out much of the external noise with not having ANC listed on the specs, having said that if you are at home and turn these up to the max you will hear NOTHING!!

These also fold up and you get a nice carry bag inside along with all the extra cables and a dongle and they have ultra low latency which is 20ms with wired connectivity via 3.5mm/6.35mm jacks for instruments like guitars and keyboards and so on which again I do not own.

The OneOdio Studio Max 1 are equipped with 50mm drivers featuring OFC copper-clad coils, these headphones deliver deep bass and crystal-clear highs, lows and mids are fine and all genres tested in my usual test run these did not dissapoint even down to to hearing more intricate details than you would not expect to which was a win for me and when the volume is turned up to the max you will be impressed and I can only imagine how they would sound in a DJ set up and so on. Calls also sounded great during my testing and clear both ends again maxed out volume which is how I prefer to use my earbuds and headphones.

There is some controls on the right cup being your power on/off volume up and down skip and reverse tracks and play and pause, there is also the option to change modes, there is 4 in total and access to your voice assistant and the keys work really well. you also have your headphone socket and USB-C charge port.

Ookla: Onboard Train Connectivity Across Europe

Ookla has analyzed country-level train Wi-Fi performance across Europe and Asia, using Speedtest Intelligence

Europe and Asia’s rail networks, long heralded as a backbone of economic competitiveness, are now judged not only on punctuality and comfort but on the quality of the digital experience onboard. High-quality train Wi-Fi has shifted from nice-to-have to essential rail infrastructure. Commuters expect a home broadband-like experience for streaming, work calls and gaming while crossing the Swiss Alps or skirting Mount Fuji.

Where countries treat train connectivity as rail infrastructure and pair onboard Wi-Fi with rail-specific infrastructure (trackside, LEO satellite or both), everyday outcomes improve measurably for passengers. This study is the first of its kind to use crowdsourced Ookla Speedtest® data to benchmark country-level train Wi-Fi performance across Europe and Asia.

Key Takeaways:

  • The gap separating Europe’s best and worst is startling. In Q2 2025, Sweden set the pace for train Wi-Fi in Europe with a 64.58 Mbps median download, followed by Switzerland (29.79 Mbps) and Ireland (26.33 Mbps). Laggards like Spain (1.45 Mbps), the UK (1.09 Mbps) and the Netherlands (0.41 Mbps) featured the poorest outcomes, with download speeds as much as 158 times slower than top-performing Sweden.
  • Legacy Wi-Fi tech drags many rail networks. Across the European markets studied, nearly two in five connections still run on Wi-Fi 4 (a standard dating to 2009), and ~22% use the lower-capacity, more congestion- and interference-prone 2.4 GHz band. The UK still sees over half of all rail connections on Wi-Fi 4, with 38% on 2.4 GHz. In Poland, rail connections remain almost entirely on Wi-Fi 4 and the 2.4 GHz band.
  • Band and Wi-Fi gen matter, but backhaul is the real bottleneck. Within-country comparisons show substantial uplifts for 5 GHz vs 2.4 GHz (e.g., +328% in Germany) and Wi-Fi 5 vs Wi-Fi 4 (e.g., +241% in Germany). Yet countries that feature a more modern Wi-Fi mix and thus drive greater use of the 5 GHz band, like Spain and Italy, can still underperform on speeds. This demonstrates that backhaul (i.e., the connection between the train’s roof antennas and the public mobile networks), not just cabin Wi-Fi, is the dominant driver of performance.
  • Asian rail networks feature modern Wi-Fi mix and lower latency but are not always faster. Taiwan posted the lowest latency and the only material Wi-Fi 6 share (~20%), while Japan and South Korea showed virtually no legacy Wi-Fi 4 or 2.4 GHz usage. Across Asia, typical median download speeds (6-8 Mbps) cluster below Europe’s leaders but above its laggards, reflecting different policy approaches (i.e., greater emphasis on cellular than Wi-Fi).
  • Policy fingerprints are unmistakable and outweigh topographic and demographic factors. When governments and operators treat mobile networks as core rail infrastructure, and invest in dedicated trackside systems, higher-order MIMO with multi-operator bonded train-mounted antennas, and RF-permeable rolling-stock window retrofits, outcomes improve dramatically.

8 Unique Use Cases for a VPN

Since the first online restriction came into play, it kickstarted a war between users who wish for freedom and those who wish to restrict it. Internet users find the internet to be boundless, endless freedom, and they will not settle for anything else. A virtual private network (VPN) is their main weapon, and it can be used for a myriad of things. VPN opens up digital access, secures activities, and reshapes how one interacts with the internet.

1. Improved access to offshore casinos

For starters, a VPN can enable access to features, games, and sites that are restricted in jurisdictions that heavily monitor internet traffic. In areas where internet access is not freely available without restrictions, users turn to offshore casinos. A VPN can enable access by routing connections through countries where these platforms operate legally and openly. Usually, it makes perfect sense to use a VPN in these situations.

A country next to you may have unlimited internet access, and your country is right next to it with restrictions. For users who wish to game online without limitations or being subjected to registration, a VPN can provide access to sites like those featured on ukslotsnotongamstop.com, that offer plenty of games, bonuses, and features, and for them, a VPN is the essential tool for online freedom.

2. Access region-specific content while abroad

While traveling, familiar websites or apps might stop functioning as expected due to regional blocks or content licensing. You’re crossing plenty of borders, and laws can change with each one. A VPN can help by linking your connection to a server in your home country, so you can still use the features as you expect. Streaming services like Hulu or BBC iPlayer, which often tailor libraries to local audiences, become accessible again. This isn’t just about convenience. For frequent travelers, being able to login and use their online services without interruption can be essential for work or personal continuity.

3. Navigate restrictive environments

Access to the open web isn’t a given right everywhere in the world. Sure, we are used to typing whatever we wish and surfing without limits, but that is a luxury. Social media platforms, news sites, or even basic messaging tools may be unavailable due to government-imposed firewalls. Online trust is a big deal and a VPN creates a bridge across these limitations. It allows users to bypass localized restrictions and connect to servers elsewhere.

4. Reduce online price discrimination

All is fair in love and war, so if online retailers sometimes adjust prices based on your location, then using a VPN is a must. This especially applies in the travel sector. Flights, hotels, and even software subscriptions might display lower prices to users in different countries. By shifting your virtual location with a VPN, you can check if better deals exist elsewhere. Even a slight reduction in airfare costs can justify a VPN subscription for frequent flyers.

5. Safer public Wi-Fi use

Public Wi-Fi networks are notoriously insecure.  Anyone can use them, which is why they are great and terrifying. They offer convenience, but they can also expose your data to lurking attackers. A VPN secures your connection through encryption, making it far more difficult for others on the same network to intercept your activity. This protection is especially valuable if you’re accessing bank accounts or entering passwords while using these hotspots.

6. Support secure peer-to-peer file sharing

Downloading or sharing large files via peer-to-peer networks has always come with privacy risks. Your IP address is typically visible to every participant in a torrent swarm. A VPN masks your address, offering a shield that helps reduce the chances of your activity being monitored or throttled by an internet provider. For individuals working with open-source files, large media projects, or even legacy software sharing, aside from modifying their old Windows PC, a VPN is an easy added privacy that makes a difference.

7. Access uncensored search results

Search engines tailor their responses based on the user’s location, showing localized results first. But sometimes that geographic filtering can be a drawback. Researchers or professionals investigating news coverage, cultural events, or policy differences abroad might want to see the internet from a local perspective. A VPN lets them connect through a server in the region they’re studying, surfacing more relevant and contextual results. It’s a quiet but powerful tool for deeper digital research.

8. Improve latency for gaming

Gamers often use VPNs to avoid targeted attacks, like DDoS attempts. But there’s a lesser-known benefit too: in specific situations, a VPN might help bypass bad ISP routing and reduce latency to certain game servers. If you’re playing blockchain game Valhalla, you’ll need all the advantages you can get, so getting a VPN here can certainly help and align with the crypto nature of the game. This isn’t a universal fix, and in many cases, it may slow things down. But for users on congested networks or in regions with suboptimal routing paths, it’s worth experimenting with. Combined with the privacy benefits, the occasional improvement in speed or stability can be a welcome surprise.

What Is Proxy Ping and Why It Matters for Your Online Experience

Ever wondered why some websites feel lightning-fast while others seem to crawl? One key factor behind this inconsistency is something called proxy ping. Think of it as the heartbeat of your internet connection. Just like a doctor checks your pulse to gauge your health, ping measures the speed and stability of data travel between your device and a server – especially when you’re connected through a proxy.

When using proxies for tasks like SEO scraping, gaming, or market research, every millisecond counts. A high ping can feel like a sluggish queue in a coffee shop, while a low ping is like being served instantly. It directly affects how fast your requests are processed, which is why professionals pay close attention to it. If your proxy has a slow ping, it could be the hidden culprit behind delayed performance, failed requests, or timeouts.

The Science Behind Proxy Ping – Measuring Latency

Let’s break this down without getting too technical. Ping refers to the time it takes for a data packet to travel from your device to a proxy server and back. It’s measured in milliseconds (ms), and just like in a sprint race, lower numbers mean better performance.

Now, when you involve a proxy, an additional leg is added to that journey. The data first travels to the proxy server before reaching the target site. This added layer introduces a new variable – the proxy ping. So while proxies can offer many benefits like privacy, performance is heavily influenced by how responsive they are.

Imagine ordering a pizza. You call the restaurant (your device sends a request), they confirm the order (the proxy responds), and finally, the pizza gets delivered (your data arrives). If the call takes too long to connect or gets dropped, your dinner plans are ruined. Same logic applies with proxy ping – it has to be snappy and stable.

What Affects Proxy Ping – The Usual Suspects

Not all proxies are created equal. Several factors influence how fast or slow your proxy ping will be:

  • Geographical distance – The farther the server, the higher the ping. If you’re in New York using a proxy in Singapore, expect some noticeable lag.
  • Server quality – Low-quality servers may be overcrowded or poorly maintained, increasing ping times.
  • Bandwidth and load – If a proxy server is overloaded with requests, it will respond slower. Just like traffic on a highway, more congestion equals slower movement.
  • Internet connection – Sometimes, the issue isn’t the proxy at all but your own network stability or speed.

Choosing a reliable, well-optimized proxy provider is like selecting a premium courier over standard mail – you’re ensuring your digital “parcels” arrive faster and more securely.

How to Check Proxy Ping – Simple Tools, Real Impact

So, how do you actually measure proxy ping? You don’t need to be a network engineer to get this done. There are simple tools like ping, tracert, or even built-in proxy checkers that give you a clear snapshot of latency.

For a more detailed guide, you can read this post that walks you through step-by-step instructions and tools to use. Whether you’re testing residential proxies, data center proxies, or mobile proxies, knowing their ping gives you the power to make smarter choices.

If the results show high ping or inconsistent responses, it might be time to switch to a more stable provider or choose proxies that are physically closer to your location. Even a few milliseconds can mean the difference between seamless automation and frustrating delays.

Why Proxy Ping Matters – Especially for Power Users

Let’s say you’re running hundreds of threads for data scraping, managing social media bots, or automating sneaker checkouts. Each task depends on multiple successful requests per second. A high proxy ping can create a bottleneck, slowing everything down and possibly getting your IPs blocked due to unnatural delays.

Gamers and streamers also experience the impact. Lag, buffering, or disconnections often point back to poor ping performance. Proxy ping isn’t just a number – it’s a performance metric that reflects real-world usability.

Think of it like the speedometer in your car. Sure, your car runs, but how fast and smooth the ride feels depends on what the speedometer tells you. Likewise, proxy ping tells you whether your connection is sprinting or staggering.

Reducing Proxy Ping – Smart Moves for Speed Seekers

So what can you do if your proxy ping is holding you back? Here are a few tried-and-tested strategies:

  • Pick proxy servers close to your physical location to minimize distance-based latency.
  • Avoid free or low-quality proxies – these often have slower response times due to overcrowding.
  • Monitor ping regularly – even premium proxies can degrade over time.
  • Use fewer simultaneous threads if your ping spikes during high load.

You don’t need a PhD in networking to improve proxy performance. Just a little awareness and the right provider can make all the difference.

Final Thoughts – Ping Isn’t Everything, But It’s a Lot

In the world of proxies, ping acts like a performance thermometer. It might not tell you everything about your server quality, but it offers a critical first insight. Whether you’re scraping data, automating workflows, or simply optimizing online speed, checking and understanding your proxy ping is like knowing your car’s fuel level – it keeps you moving efficiently.

If you care about speed, responsiveness, and reliability, then proxy ping is something you should never ignore. Because in the digital world, every millisecond counts – and your success might just depend on it.

A Complete Guide to Selecting Reliable Fiber Internet Provider

Many people today are looking into fiber internet. They love the fast upload and download speeds and low latency. Multiple companies currently offer this service, so knowing which provider to choose can be challenging. What features should a person look for when comparing providers?

Speed

ISPs that offer fiber internet allow consumers to choose from different speeds. Consumers should know what speed is best for their usage. A single person only wishing to run a few devices will find 500 Mbps ideal. Multiple individuals using the same connection while running several devices simultaneously need 1 or 2 gigabits. Choosing a provider offering 2 gigabits is best because it will be necessary as technology advances.

One thing many people overlook when considering the number of devices they run is items that aren’t readily apparent when looking at the internet connection. People look at their phones, laptops, tablets, printers, and smart TVs. They overlook the smart home devices that allow their residences to function. These devices range from smart plugs to smart major appliances. All benefit from the internet connection and influence the internet speed needed.

Price and Promotions

People might assume they must bundle services to get the best prices. In the past, this was often true. However, ISPs recognize they are losing business because consumers might not want phone or TV service. Standalone internet service is available, and consumers must shop around to find the right deal for their needs. To save money when purchasing a standalone service, ask about discounts and promotions that may help save money.

Avoid Data Caps

ISPs often impose data caps. When a customer exceeds this amount, the provider charges for any extra data used. Choosing an unlimited plan ensures data is always available when needed, and the customer knows how much they will pay for the service each month.

Smart Installations

When having fiber internet installed, request a Wi-Fi signal strength test. This test helps identify dead spots in the home so extenders or mesh Wi-Fi can be installed. A gig-speed installation may also be requested.

Tech Support

Nobody wants to have issues with their internet. When problems arise, they want help immediately. Look for a company with robust tech support to resolve matters quickly and efficiently. Many providers today offer automated troubleshooting with the option of speaking to a live person if the automated system isn’t of help. Having multiple options makes it easy to get help when needed.

Consider Additional Services

Internet service providers often offer additional services to enhance the user experience. They may offer apps that provide password and device protection or identity monitoring. Cloud storage remains popular with many internet users today, and the ISP might offer this storage at a discounted price for its customers. Having one provider for multiple services is beneficial, as the customer only has one place to turn when they need help with their account.

Updated Equipment

Look for a provider with the latest equipment. Technology advances at an astounding rate, so choosing a provider whose fiber footprint is expanding is best. They need state-of-the-art service to keep up with these changes.

Once a fiber internet provider is selected, it’s time to focus on the home network. Consider upgrading devices to benefit the most from the new network. When you see how excellent this internet service is, you’ll want to do more online.

Tech Review – Edifier Hecate GX05 Ultra-Low Latency TWS gaming earbuds

The Edifier Hecate GX05 Ultra-Low Latency TWS gaming earbuds are a product that looks like you would find in a sci-fri film and that is not a bad thing either so for the looks alone they get a ten out of ten there in my book but what else do these have and who are they for exactly.

Ok so out of the box these look great in every respect, the look and feel is screaming premium here and that includes the package in a nice solid hard case with a nice lock thrown in, inside you get your cables tips dust caps and a nice carry pouch to store it all in so another win here.

As described up top the case is one to behold with a weighty feel and a nice solid click everytime you turn it this is a piece of art and one of if not the best cases I have seen to date. Also on the underside of the case is a MFB to control the RGB lights which gives a nice effect, these is also lights on the earbuds which can be turned on/off.

The earbuds themselves are also slightly different with their shape but fit well in the ears and look good there is a decent seal and there extra tips provided in the box there is no ANC here or access to the connect app which is disappointing however these are not aimed at music and I get it but still would of been nice so I will let them away with it this time.

The earbuds as mentioned are for gamers with dual connectivity via BT or the dongle provided in the box went with the dongle route and tested on Xbox PS5 and of course my phone, I am not one to spend hours gaming but when I do I like to have good quality tech to do so and these do well in that respect but also in fairness not so bad on listening to music in general.

You have some controls of course but missing some features again these are features more so related to music you can manage call on them you can also manage the lights the modes, play and pause and skip and reverse tracks which is fine. There is no voice assistant or volume control on them.

On the gaming from they set out what they aim to do putting you right in the game you are playing not missing a beat, you will find it hard to get zero latency on earbuds but we are getting there and these are a step in the right direction.

Sound is great powered by Hi-Res Audio with 10mm drivers on board under the Hecate name which is Edifiers professional audio brand for gamers and a new one to me too, on the music from highs lows and mids all came across fine and some bass in there there was no latency on audio on listening to my usual test tracks the audio was crisp and clear and you do have modes to change the audio like gaming and music mode, On a gaming front as mentioned it is excellent putting you in the centre not missing footsteps directional sound and so on making it an enjoyable experience overall.

CRKD announces new Powered Up Nitro Deck+ for Nintendo Switch & OLED Switch Consoles

CRKD, the new premium collectible brand behind the award-winning Nitr Deck and the recently announced NEO, announced today the Nitro Deck+, an all-new addition to the Nitro Deck range bringing more features, more innovation, and more power to Switch gamers everywhere.
An ingenious all-in-one controller solution for Nintendo Switch and OLED switch consoles, Nitro Deck delivers zero stick drift and offers a feature-rich, precise way to enjoy Switch gaming in handheld mode. Featuring the same comfortable footprint as the original Nitro Deck, the Nitro Deck+ introduces a raft of new features, designed to make Switch gaming better than ever.
Proudly announced today as part of the IGN™ FanFest event, the Nitro Deck+ is the result of extensive community feedback following the release of the original Nitro Deck.
Nitro Deck+ features enhanced ergonomics, adjusting the placement of the right thumbstick, and allowing gamers to play in a more intuitive symmetrical fashion. The Nitro Deck+ can now connect directly to a TV with no need for an external dock! Featuring an integrated USB-C output and complete with an included USB-C to HDMI adaptor, gamers can switch between handheld and TV play without ever needing to remove their Switch console from Nitro Deck+, a quick, slick solution with no need to compromise!
On the front of the Nitro Deck+ to either side of the thumbsticks, two new ‘Sidekick’ buttons have been added, delivering even more customization options. Designed to work in conjunction with the new symmetrical thumbstick configuration, the Sidekick buttons are pre-programmed to replicate the A and B action button commands, allowing for super-fast operation. Replicating the most commonly used action buttons, facilitating speedier reaction times, and when used in combination with the additional re-mappable back buttons that are now mapped to X, Y, A, B out the box, the Nitro Deck+ allows gamers to play faster, score higher and elevate their handheld experience.
The new easy eject system allows for simple removal of the Switch console from the Nitro Deck+ allowing gamers to safely remove their console with no need to touch or add stress to the screen while removing.
Nitro Deck+ has also received an upgraded, adjustable rumble system, delivering more immersion and intense vibration which can be adjusted to suit the gamers’ preference. In addition, Bluetooth® has also been added to the Nitro Deck+, to allow for easy communication to the CRKD App for firmware updates. In the future, the App will include a full suite of customization options including button programming, adjustable trigger sensitivity, and more. The Nitro Deck + can connect via its defaulted USB-C wired connection or via Bluetooth when the switch is inserted into the deck.
The Nitro Deck+ adds these new features without removing any of what made the original Nitro Deck such a beloved product. The full list of features present on Nitro Deck+ include:
