Nokia Mobile Dublin Launch event October 2022

Today Nokia Mobile (HMD Global) had a private launch event in Dublin, Check out the products on show and stay tuned for more soon on here and techbuzzireland.com One message Nokia made clear at this launch is sustainability and being eco friendly as you will see with their new packaging and a clean portfolio of devices you will recognise unlike other that flood the market with multiple devices.

There is a phone for everyone here at all price points and send a message, feature phones is one great place to start for a digital detox yet giving you the basics and my pics is the Nokia 5710 Express Audio which combines two products in one, that being earbuds built into the device itself and the earbuds will work with other products too and not just the phone itself..

Check out a quick video below at what is on offer and stay tuned for more and reviews coming soon. I have been an avid Nokia fan over the years and own a huge collection of devices from yesteryear which I plan to take a look down memory lane soon here and on our YouTube channel.

Tune in on the 22nd – live from Nokia World Abu Dhabi 8AM kick off for Ireland. #NokiaNewsIreland

As  reported a couple of weeks ago, there’s a Nokia press event taking place on the 22ndOctober in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

NokiaNewsIreland owner @jimboireland AKA Jim o Brien will be attending this event.

I will be tweeting live from the event and with all the juicy information back here to ireland.

The press conference will start at 8am UK/irish time (that’s 11am Abu Dhabi time). And the webcast from the event will be broadcast  on Conversations, so that you can watch the action on your screen of choice!

This time around  there is  an extra treat in the form of a second round of webcasts, after the main announcement.

These are additional interactive sessions that go into much more detail about… well, whatever is announced in the morning. These sessions have historically been reserved for the press, bloggers, partners and analysts who attend Nokia World, so we’re extremely pleased and excited to be able to offer them here on Conversations, for the first time.

The all-inclusive sessions will begin at 11am UK /irish time and close at around 1pm.

I have a chat with nokia and my 5 favorite nokia phones #nokia #ireland #jimobrien

Last month, we launched a new series where people tell about their most beloved Nokia phones ever. Smartphone photographer/author Patrick Walsh’s stories of Snake addiction on the Nokia 3210 and flying to New York just to get the Nokia N95 left us longing for more, so here comes episode 2. This time up, it’s one of Europe’s top Nokia fans, blogger and support guru Jim O’Brien, a man who’s owned a whopping 115 Nokia phones! Over to you, Jim.

The Nokia 7650 (2001)

Why did you get it?

It was awe inspiring, the first Nokia phone with a camera.

What did you love about it?

It set the pace for others. They tried to catch up, but they couldn’t. When other camera phones came on the market, I could still say I had the better phone.

What happened to it?

Today I still have that phone.

The Nokia N92 (2005)

Why did you get it?

I just loved it.

What did you love about it?

The N92 is my pride and joy! The quirky design, the way you could fold it, etc. It was amazing… the speakers were also mind-blowing back then.

What happened to it?

I still have it, I will never sell it. I’ve been offered silly money for it and still say no thanks.

The Nokia N81 8GB (2007)

Why did you get it?

It brought gaming to a new level on a mobile device.

What did you love about it?

It had outstanding design and the sound that came from the dual speakers was superb and it was just well built and looked great.

What happened to it?

I also still have it.

The Nokia 3230 (2004)

Why did you get it?

It was great, like a little computer in those days.

What did you love about it?

The candy bar form factor, nice design. It felt solid and the keypad was great. I also loved the Navi key in the middle, which was very handy. Even with its MMC slot the phone did not hold much, but you could work around that.

What happened to it?

The one I have now isn’t the actual one I owned, but one I was delighted to receive from the Nokia Support Discussions forum. It’s just like new… not a mark on it.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 (2013)

Why did you get it?

One word: Wow! This is the phone of the decade. I own all the Lumias and I keep asking if they can get any better, but they do. This is just a killer device.

What did you love about it?

It feels great in your hand, very solid. The yellow makes a statement, it’s fast and fluid. The weight of the 1020 is perfect, neither too heavy nor too light. I remember when I had the yellow 920 and people complained about weight, it’s not an issue here. This is the phone to have.

I was never a fan of photography, never liked using a separate camera. I’ve always preferred my Nokia devices and each time they get better. The 1020, like the 925, 920, 808, and of course all before these, have given others something to think about regarding mobile phone camera innovation. It just gets better and I love it. So, no, I don’t have a standalone camera, because my Nokia phone just does all a standalone camera can and more.

What happened to it?

Nothing happens to my devices! I keep them all LOL.

Well, Jim loves a totally different bunch of devices than Patrick, which just goes to show that we pick our phones according to our personalities. We wonder which device will be the first one to get a second vote… stay tuned, and while waiting for the next episode, let us know which phones make your own personal list! Do any of the above have a special place in your heart?

Editorial- A quick thanks from NokiaNewsIreland.Com editor @jimboireland #nokia #ireland

Nokia news ireland is only in its infancy and several months old and targeting on specific a product which is nokia and its products, ireland is a small country which has a small market when it comes to mobiles compared to the uk for example who is next door on the map so to speak.

Launched in June 2013 the first month was slow with results but has incrementally boomed since then and i wish to thank all who follow and read the blog.

From reading stats today nokia news ireland has jumped a massive 459.56% since launch which is pretty amazing considered we are only targeting a specific product and in such a short space of time.

We have regular readers from all over the world with Ireland been the top viewer in the stats.

The uk,finland, india and rest of world is also a big  visitor and steadily growing and we will strive to continue along with our twitter feed to keep people up to date in ireland on the latest apps, updates and news on nokia products for ireland and more. Here we also offer support on your products should you have an issue.

Me @jimboireland owner of nokianewsireland.com has plans for the future here with this blog, which will remain a nokia focused blog only, and remains the only dedicated blog for nokia in ireland, and also another project in the works for mobile products in the near future, which will be announced in due course from my personal twitter account.

Once again thanks for the support and hopefully more will come especially a little closer to home.
