Prove Accelerates Global Innovation with Expansion of Ireland R&D Hub

Prove, the leader in digital identity, is expanding its Ireland operations to support global product development and growth, reinforcing the country’s role as a central hub for the company’s product development, culture and international growth. The company plans to invest more than $5 million in Ireland-based operations and create 50 jobs in the country, with many new opportunities opening this year. Since establishing operations in Ireland in 2022, Prove has rapidly scaled its Dublin presence, growing local headcount by 50% in the past six months alone. What began as a small regional footprint has quickly become a cornerstone of Prove’s global innovation engine, supporting customers across markets and enabling the company to meet the increasingly complex identity and fraud challenges facing enterprises worldwide.

Over the past year, teams based in Ireland have played a critical role in the rapid acceleration of innovation at Prove. During this period, the company launched several new solutions, including Prove Unified Authentication, ProveX and Prove Verified Agent, alongside foundational platform elements such as the Global Fraud Policy and the Prove Identity Graph.

Monzo plans to grow its Dublin-based team to 70 employees

Monzo, a leading digital bank, today announced its plans to grow its Irish team to 70, almost doubling the headcount by mid-2027. This builds on the bank’s continued investment in Ireland with the latest capital injection of €71m, bringing the total to €83.5 million over the past two years. The investment underpins the expansion of its Dublin-based European headquarters and the creation of new jobs across the business.

Monzo’s European expansion is led by Michael Carney, Monzo’s EU CEO, as the bank prepares to serve Irish customers and businesses. Carney is supported by an experienced leadership team that brings together deep expertise in banking and technology, including Nicola O’Brien (EU Chief Financial Officer), Sonia Flynn (EU Chief Operating Officer), and Elaine Deehan (Country Manager for Ireland).

The new roles will span operations, risk and compliance, technology and engineering, financial crime prevention and product development, reflecting the breadth of capabilities required to operate and scale a fully licensed digital bank within the EU.

The announcement follows Monzo becoming the first digital bank to secure a full European banking licence through the Central Bank of Ireland in December 2025, enabling the company to bring its fully regulated personal and business banking products to customers across the EU, starting right here in Ireland.

Supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland, the expansion will support delivery of Monzo’s core digital banking offer for individuals and businesses, including everyday current accounts, children’s accounts payments, savings products and financial management tools designed to give its customers greater control and transparency in managing their finances.

Apple opens new Dublin Office and expands in Cork

IDA Ireland today welcomes Apple’s official opening of its new Hollyhill 5 building in Cork, representing another strong endorsement of Ireland as a location for global innovation and advanced operations. The purpose‑built facility, which can accommodate 1,300 employees, reinforces Apple’s long-term commitment to the South West region and builds on more than four decades of continuous strategic investment in Ireland.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin TD said: “I’m delighted to open this state-of-the-art new facility in Hollyhill today and to see firsthand the major investment that Apple is making here. The contribution Apple has made in Cork and Ireland over the last 45 years cannot be overstated  – creating thousands of highly-skilled roles and continually investing in their Irish operations.”

Apple’s presence in Ireland has evolved significantly since 1980, growing from a small manufacturing facility to become the company’s European, Middle East, India and Africa headquarters. Supply Wisdom Selects Dublin for European Headquarters Expansion

Supply Wisdom, a global leader in continuous risk intelligence, has announced Dublin as the location of its European headquarters, supporting the creation of up to 21 high-value jobs over the next three years.

Healthtech company, Dedalus to create 100 jobs in Ireland

Dedalus, Europe’s leading healthcare software provider, has announced it will create 100 new high-value jobs in Ireland over the next four years as part of a €10 million expansion of its Irish operations. The investment, supported by IDA Ireland, was announced by Taoiseach Micheál Martin TD.

The expansion will bring Dedalus’s total Irish workforce to 150 people, scaling its presence across software engineering, product management, clinical informatics, data and analytics, cybersecurity, and implementation services. It will further embed Ireland at the centre of Dedalus’s efforts to deliver digital health solutions to providers across the country and Europe.

The company currently partners with the HSE and a range of hospitals across the country (see below). In 2021, Dedalus acquired the online healthcare appointment platform Swiftqueue which manages over four million appointments annually across Ireland’s healthcare system.

The announcement comes as Dedalus continues to support some of the most significant digital health initiatives ever undertaken in Ireland. This year alone, the company has collaborated with healthcare partners on a range of major national initiatives, including:

  • Beaumont Hospital: go-live of new clinical applications with 3,000 hospital staff trained and using the system.
  • St James’s Hospital: modernisation of laboratory information management systems, processing over 12 million tests annually.
  • National Medicinal Product Catalogue: a central reference source for medicines and medical devices, promoting safer, more consistent prescribing, strengthening monitoring and planning, and enabling more joined-up care for patients.
  • National Terminology Service: the country’s first such service, now live, transforming how medical data is classified and harnessed across the health system.
  • National Data Dictionary: ensuring all healthcare professionals use the same definitions and language across care delivery.

Fixify, a leading provider in AI-driven IT support automation, has selected Cork City as the home of its new EU Centre of Excellence, creating 50 skilled jobs in the region over the next 18 months. Sanmina Announces Expansion of Ireland Manufacturing Site, Creating up to 150 Jobs

Sanmina Corporation a Fortune 500 company and leading global provider of integrated electronic manufacturing solutions, today announced an expansion of its Fermoy medical facility in North Cork. The investment is expected to create up to 150 highly skilled new jobs, with recruitment already underway.

The completed facility expansion will be opened today by An Taoiseach Micheál Martin. The operation in Fermoy dates back to the site’s opening in 1989. Since then, it has grown to become Sanmina’s largest medical facility in Europe. The expansion to the site is expected to further enhance Sanmina’s capabilities for the finished medical device market, reinforcing Ireland’s role as a leading hub for medical technology manufacturing.

The site includes advanced manufacturing capabilities, and its first new automation line is already installed and commissioned. The expansion will also include a new ISO8 clean room and several high-volume automation lines dedicated to producing wearable medical devices.

40 new jobs: Aiven chooses Cork as location of EMEA Hub

Cloud Infrastructure leader Aiven has selected Cork City as the location of its EMEA hub for Go to Market expansion. This expansion is expected to create 40 jobs over the next three years.

Aiven’s GTM Expansion hub will see the creation of a new Inside Sales organisation with supporting engineering and operational supporting functions which will be focused on driving growth of Aiven’s open-source core services.

Aiven’s decision to expand its Cork operations with a focus on hiring sales professionals will create new, high-quality career opportunities in the region. Equifax launches International AI Innovation Lab in Ireland

Equifax has announced the opening of its state-of-the-art AI Innovation Lab at its operation in Wexford, Ireland, a new facility dedicated to advancing the company’s global artificial intelligence research and development. The new Lab builds on the company’s more than 10-year history of AI innovation and expands its global team of over 1,200 data and analytics professionals.

This investment, supported by the Irish Government, through IDA Ireland, will serve as a global hub for innovation, bringing together highly skilled data and technology specialists to create next-generation AI solutions that enhance decision-making, improve customer and consumer experiences, and help global organisations reduce risk.

The AI Innovation Lab will focus on developing advanced AI models, machine learning algorithms, Research and Development, and data analytics tools to address complex challenges faced by businesses and consumers. For its initial phase, the lab will concentrate on AI-driven solutions for credit risk assessment that can augment decision-making for fintechs and financial institutions. These innovations will leverage advanced AI to provide affordability and creditworthiness insights, helping more people access mainstream financial opportunities and driving greater financial inclusion. This includes enhancing fraud detection, improving credit risk assessment, optimising marketing strategies, and strengthening cybersecurity measures.

The lab will play an important role in advancing the Equifax global EFX.AI strategy, furthering the company’s ongoing innovation and the development of data-driven solutions that can help open up new financial opportunities for consumers.
