Projector vs. Monitor: What You Should Buy for Display on Your PC

Choosing the right display for your PC can significantly impact your productivity, entertainment experience, and overall satisfaction. Two of the most popular options available today are projectors and monitors. Each has its advantages and drawbacks, and the best choice ultimately depends on your specific needs, environment, and usage patterns. In this comprehensive comparison, we break down the key differences between projectors and monitors to help you decide which is the ideal choice for your PC setup.

On the other hand, if you are on the hunt for a platform wherein you can play card games, be sure to visit GameZone Pinoy games.

What Is a Projector?

A projector is a device that casts a visual image onto a large surface, typically a wall or projection screen. Projectors vary in size, resolution, brightness, and price, but all share the basic function of turning a flat surface into a large display area. Projectors are widely used in home theaters, business presentations, and classrooms.

Projectors typically connect to a PC via HDMI, USB-C, or wireless display adapters. Modern projectors can deliver high definition (HD) and 4K resolution and even support HDR content.

What Is a Monitor?

A monitor is a dedicated display screen designed to show visuals with clarity and precision. Monitors come in various sizes, resolutions, refresh rates, and panel types such as IPS, TN, and VA. They are the standard display for desktops, laptops, and gaming PCs.

Unlike projectors, monitors have built-in screens with consistent brightness levels, reliable color accuracy, and support for fast refresh rates that benefit gaming and professional work.

Projector vs. Monitor: Key Factors to Consider

When evaluating whether to buy a projector or a monitor for your PC, it helps to compare them across several essential criteria:

1. Display Size and Viewing Experience

Projector

The most obvious advantage of a projector is its ability to produce a large image. Depending on the model and throw distance, you can create a display that ranges from 60 inches up to 150 inches or more. This makes projectors ideal for home cinema, group presentations, and immersive media consumption.

However, the viewing quality heavily depends on the projection surface and ambient light conditions. A darker room and a dedicated projection screen will deliver the best results.

Monitor

Monitors offer precise, consistent image quality at fixed sizes, typically between 21 inches and 49 inches for consumer displays. While they cannot match the sheer size of a projector image, monitors provide sharp visuals ideal for close-up work like graphic design, spreadsheets, and gaming.

Monitors are also easier to position and use without worrying about distance or external light sources.

2. Image Quality and Resolution

Projector

Projectors have come a long way in image quality. Modern units support Full HD (1080p) and 4K resolution, and some models offer enhanced color and contrast. However, due to projection optics and surface limitations, projectors may not deliver the same sharpness and detail as monitors of similar resolution.

Brightness is another concern. Measured in lumens, projector brightness affects how well the image holds up in well-lit environments. Unless you choose a high-lumens model, bright rooms can wash out the projected image.

Monitor

Monitors generally deliver superior image clarity and crispness at similar resolutions. Because they generate their own light, monitors perform well in any lighting condition and maintain consistent brightness. This makes them ideal for tasks where accurate visuals matter, such as photo editing or video production.

High-end monitors can also offer professional color accuracy with wide color gamut support (sRGB, Adobe RGB, DCI-P3), which is crucial for creative professionals.

3. Space and Setup Requirements

Projector

Projectors require more setup consideration. You’ll need space for the projector, a flat wall or screen, and sufficient throw distance to achieve the desired screen size. Mounting options include ceiling mounts or placing the projector on a desk or shelf.

Cables may need to be routed carefully, and you might need additional accessories like speakers if the projector’s built-in audio is insufficient.

Monitor

Monitors are generally plug-and-play. They fit well on desks, require minimal setup, and have straightforward cable connections (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C). Monitors also take up less physical space and don’t require external screens or darkened rooms.

4. Performance for Productivity and Gaming

Projector

Projectors are not typically designed for performance-intensive tasks like gaming or professional productivity. Input lag, refresh rates, and response times tend to lag behind monitors. While some projectors improve these specs, they still cannot match gaming monitors with high refresh rates (144 Hz, 240 Hz) or low response times (1 ms).

For presentations, multimedia, and casual gaming, projectors can perform well, but competitive gaming or fast-paced tasks may suffer.

Monitor

Monitors excel in performance applications. Gaming monitors offer high refresh rates and adaptive sync technologies like FreeSync and G-SYNC, which reduce screen tearing and improve visual smoothness. Productivity monitors often include ergonomic stands, multiple ports, and split-screen software support.

If you rely on your PC for work, creative projects, or gaming sessions, a monitor is usually the better choice.

5. Cost and Value

Projector

Projectors can vary widely in price. Budget models may start under $300, while high-end 4K cinema projectors can exceed $2,000. Remember that projectors may also require additional expenses such as a screen, mounting hardware, and external speakers.

Projectors offer excellent value if your priority is a large display experience in a dedicated media room.

Monitor

Monitors also vary in price, from affordable options under $150 to professional-grade displays over $1,000. For the average user, a mid-range monitor (1080p or 1440p) offers excellent performance for both work and play.

Monitors tend to deliver better overall value for everyday PC tasks due to their simplicity and versatility.

Final Verdict

When deciding between a projector and a monitor for your PC, your choice should match your primary use case. A projector can transform your space into a home theater and deliver an impressive screen size for shared viewing. A monitor, on the other hand, delivers superior clarity, performance, and ease of use for daily computing tasks, gaming, and professional work.

Before purchasing, consider your room size, lighting conditions, budget, and how you intend to use your PC. By aligning these factors with the strengths of each display type, you can make an informed decision that enhances your computing experience.

Mangoal Front and Rear DashCam (OEM MG-006C-1BA) Review

The Mangoal OEM MG-006C-1BA is a dual dashcam kit featuring front 4K and rear Full HD cameras, powered via your vehicle’s OBD port rather than the traditional cigarette-lighter cable. The unit comes with a 128GB microSD card, adhesive mounting, and uses the SkyCamm mobile app (iOS/Android) for setup, live view, and playback.

Mangoal, founded in 2013, specialises in OEM dash cams and wireless chargers compatible with over 15+ global car brands and 1,000+ models. Their devices hold CE, RoHS, and FCC certifications.

Installation & App (SkyCamm)

The installation process was more straightforward than expected. Using the OBD connector eliminates the need to hardwire into the fuse box or battery. Cables tucked away cleanly, creating a professional, near-invisible finish — a big plus over suction-cup models.

⚠️ Tip: Always check your vehicle model before purchasing the OBD cable — some cars (e.g., Mazda 6) may require specific connectors.

The SkyCamm app connects via Wi-Fi (not your home network). It’s user-friendly, offering live viewing, video downloads, and configuration for recording resolution, loop duration, and voice alerts. Tutorials show car-specific installation steps, making the setup accessible even for first-time installers.

Camera Quality & Footage Analysis

Testing covered day and night recording on an Android phone (downloaded footage), and viewed on a Windows laptop, and a 55-inch 4K television.
The front camera produced sharp, true-4K imagery (3840 × 2160 px), while the rear unit, though advertised as 2K, recorded at Full HD (1920 × 1080 px) — still clear but worth noting.

Camera Resolution (H × V) Megapixels Common Name Notes Average File Size (1 min) 128 GB Storage
Front 4K UHD 3840 × 2160 8.3 Ultra HD (4K) Manufacturer spec confirmed 130 MB (TechBuzz Ireland test result) ≈ 16.8 hours
Rear “2K” / FHD 1920 × 1080 2.1 Full HD (1080p) Records below 2K spec 58 MB (TechBuzz Ireland test result) ≈ 37.7 hours
Front + Rear Dual recording Combined total 188 MB (TechBuzz Ireland test result) ≈ 11.6 hours

Visual results:

  • Daytime: Excellent sharpness and licence-plate legibility even at distance.
  • Night: Clear and well-balanced exposure, maintaining visibility in low light.
  • Playback: Crisp and stable across devices, minimal compression artefacts.
  • Storage: Efficient loop recording; G-sensor reliably locks collision footage.

Overall, the footage quality outperforms many mid-range dash cams, particularly for the 4K front lens.

 Strengths

  • True 4K front camera delivers crisp, high-detail footage.
  • Clean, wire-free installation using OBD power.
  • Free SkyCamm app is intuitive and feature-rich.
  • 128 GB card included (a welcome bonus).
  • Dual-channel continuous recording with event lock.

Limitations

  • Rear camera records at Full HD, not the advertised 2K.
  • 1-year warranty feels short for the price bracket.
  • Adhesive mount makes repositioning difficult once fixed.

Verdict

The Mangoal MG-006C-1BA dash cam kit stands out for its 4K front recording, discreet OBD installation, and simple app control. While the rear camera isn’t true 2K and the warranty is modest, the overall package offers excellent visual quality and seamless installation.

Based on TechBuzz Ireland’s real-world testing, a 128GB card provides around 11 hours of dual-camera footage before automatically overwriting older files — typical behaviour for continuous loop recording. This is ideal for drivers seeking a permanent, tidy setup with reliable 4K recording.

It’s an excellent choice for parents looking for a robust, non-Wi-Fi solution with extensive features and coverage and comes with a separate camera in the

The Tivona delivers a superior image compared to many standard monitors thanks to its 1080P Full HD camera. The 4000mAh or 5000mAh battery is a major plus. It offers enough power to typically last a full night’s sleep, even with heavy use, and easily through the day on power-saving (VOX) mode. How Real-Time Streaming Tech Powers Live Dealer Casinos?

Here’s the thing most players don’t think about when they sit down at a live dealer table: somewhere, in a perfectly lit studio, a real human is shuffling cards while an army of cameras, servers, codecs, and network engineers quietly lose sleep so your blackjack hand doesn’t freeze on a seven of hearts.

Live dealer casinos feel effortless. That’s the magic. But behind that smooth stream is one of the most demanding real-time tech setups in online entertainment. This isn’t Netflix. You can’t buffer your way out of a bad hand.

So let’s pull back the velvet curtain and talk about how real-time streaming technology actually powers live dealer casinos—and why it’s way more impressive than most people realize.

Why Live Dealer Streaming Is a Different Beast

Streaming a movie is easy. Stream it late? No problem. Pause it? Totally fine. Stream a live casino game? That’s a high-wire act without a safety net.

Live dealer casinos require ultra-low latency, meaning the time between the dealer dealing a card and you seeing it must be nearly instant. We’re talking fractions of a second. Any delay longer than that, and players start shouting “rigged” in the chat.

On top of that, everything must be synchronized:

  • The video feed
  • The betting interface
  • The game logic
  • The timer counting down your decision

If even one of these slips, the illusion collapses. And once the illusion is gone, so is the trust.

The Studio: Where the Magic Actually Happens

Live dealer studios are closer to TV broadcast sets than casinos. Dealers don’t just stand at a table; they perform under intense lighting designed to eliminate shadows, glare, and suspicious reflections.

Multiple HD cameras surround the table. Not one. Not two. Usually three to five, capturing:

  • A wide shot of the dealer
  • A close-up of the cards or wheel
  • A backup angle in case something goes wrong

These feeds are captured simultaneously and pushed into real-time encoding systems. No editing. No retakes. If the dealer drops a card, the internet sees it.

This is where latency becomes the enemy. Every extra processing step adds delay, so casino streaming setups are stripped down to essentials. Speed beats beauty.

Encoding: Turning Reality into Data (Fast)

Once cameras capture the action, raw video is useless unless it’s compressed—fast. This is where real-time encoders step in.

Encoders convert video into formats that can travel quickly across the internet without destroying image quality. Modern live casinos rely on adaptive bitrate streaming, which means the stream adjusts itself on the fly depending on your connection.

Strong Wi-Fi? You get crisp HD.
Weak signal? The resolution drops, but the game continues.

That’s why you can play from a café, a train, or your couch without the table freezing mid-spin. It’s not luck. It’s math, bandwidth management, and ruthless optimization.

The Invisible Middleman: Streaming Servers

Here’s a fun fact: the dealer isn’t streaming directly to you.

Between the studio and your screen sit distribution servers scattered across regions. These servers decide the fastest possible route for the video to reach you, shaving milliseconds wherever they can.

This is especially important for players hopping between platforms while comparing options like the best online casino ireland has to offer, where performance and smoothness often matter more than flashy bonuses.

The same logic applies again when players debate which platform truly deserves the label best online casino ireland—because when the stream stutters, no welcome offer can save the experience.

Syncing Video With Bets: The Real Challenge

Video alone isn’t enough. The casino must sync what you see with what you can do.

When the dealer says “Place your bets,” a countdown timer appears. That timer isn’t cosmetic. It’s linked to the same system handling the video feed, the dealer’s actions, and your clicks.

This requires event-driven architecture, where every action triggers multiple responses instantly:

  • Dealer starts dealing → betting closes
  • Card hits the table → result updates
  • Wheel stops spinning → payouts calculate

If any of these lag behind the video, chaos follows. Imagine betting on a hand after seeing the card. Exactly. That’s why live dealer platforms are built like financial trading systems, not casual games.

Latency Wars: How Casinos Keep It Fair

Fairness in live dealer casinos isn’t just about honesty—it’s about timing.

To prevent abuse, casinos deliberately add tiny, controlled delays to certain actions. Not enough for players to notice, but enough to prevent anyone from exploiting network advantages.

This balancing act ensures that:

  • Everyone sees the same action at the same time
  • Bets are locked fairly
  • No one gains an edge by sitting closer to a server

It’s a constant war against physics, geography, and impatient players.

Human Touch, Digital Precision

One reason live dealer casinos exploded in popularity is psychological. Humans trust humans.

Seeing a real dealer shuffle cards does something algorithms never could. It lowers suspicion. It adds warmth. It turns gambling from a cold interface into a shared moment.

But that human touch is supported by ruthless precision. Every shuffle is tracked. Every card scan feeds into a backend system verifying outcomes in real time. The dealer smiles. The software double-checks.

It’s theatre backed by engineering.

What’s Next: Faster, Closer, More Immersive

The future of live dealer streaming isn’t just higher resolution. It’s lower latency, regional micro-studios, and interactive layers.

Expect features like:

  • Dealers responding to chat in real time
  • Personalized camera angles
  • Seamless switching between tables without reloads

As 5G and edge computing mature, the gap between physical casinos and digital tables will shrink even further. The screen will disappear. The experience will remain.

Live dealer casinos work not because they look real—but because the technology behind them refuses to fake anything.

Every spin, every card, every awkward dealer joke travels across oceans in milliseconds, balanced on a knife-edge of timing and trust. It’s messy. It’s complex. And when it works, it feels effortless.

Which is exactly the point.

While the Tiny SE offers plug-and-play functionality via USB 2.0, I highly recommend downloading the OBSBOT software using the QR code provided on the box. This unlocks the full potential of the webcam, including firmware updates and access to advanced features.

Download software

Scan the QR code from the box – https://www.obsbot.com/download

The software interface is intuitive, allowing users to easily customize shooting modes, gesture controls, and tracking options. However, it’s worth noting that presets may need recalibration if the laptop is moved, which could be mitigated by using the optional OBSBOT Foldable Lightweight Tripod.

Performance

In my testing, the Tiny SE delivered smooth, high-quality video across various scenarios. The 4x zoom function operated seamlessly, providing fluid transitions between scenes. The AI tracking capabilities were particularly impressive, accurately following subjects even in challenging lighting conditions.

Optional Remote Control

The review unit came with an optional remote control, which connected effortlessly via the supplied USB receiver. This accessory greatly enhances the user experience, allowing for easy adjustments without accessing the laptop keyboard.

Warranty

The 1-year warranty, while standard, feels somewhat limited given the premium features of this camera. A longer warranty period would better reflect the quality and innovation packed into this device.

Conclusion

The OBSBOT Tiny SE AI-Powered Full HD PTZ Webcam continues the company’s tradition of delivering feature-rich, high-performance webcams at accessible price points. Its advanced AI capabilities, smooth tracking, and excellent low-light performance make it an outstanding choice for remote workers, content creators, and streamers operating in small to medium-sized spaces.

For those requiring coverage of larger areas or higher resolutions, the OBSBOT Tail 2 NDI Combo might be a more suitable option. However, for most users, the Tiny SE offers an impressive balance of features, performance, and value.

Having used various OBSBOT webcams over the years, I can confidently say that the Tiny SE maintains the brand’s reputation for solid construction, feature-rich offerings, and smooth, fluid movement. It stands out as a great quality webcam that punches above its weight in terms of features and performance at its price point.

Tech Review – SOUNDPEATS Q35 HD+ Neckband Headphones

The SOUNDPEATS Q35 HD+ Neckband Headphones are for those into sports however  anyone can wear the latest from the company and are powered by 10mm drivers which is decent for their size, these are not your typical earbuds but one that wrap around your neck but over time you do not notice they are there.

The build quality is quite good and the fit better than expected being in ears as the wing that is built in does a good job giving them a secure seal which also helps with sound isolation.

There is no app here this time which is unfortunate but maybe added later with some luck to give you the full suite of EQ setting those are custom to with those others might be used to having from the brand which we have tested many of recently.

There is a simple to use inline control with three raised buttons on board to get the tasks done, this is on the right side of the headset and does not feel uncomfortable when wearing there is also a charge post on the control unit so as mentioned all lept simple here.

The also come with Bluetooth 5.2 technology and support for aptX-HD decoding which gives you great sound on the go be it in the gym jogging or running even at home they sound great and calls have been no issue either being very clear both ends. they also use the QCC3040 chipset from Qualcomm

How do these sound though? These for me are on the brighter side due to having no app access however you can try third party EQ apps if you like the sound is loud crisp and clear with a slight tinny sound when maxed out on some songs tested from my usual test loop of tracks .

Highs lows and mids came out fine and on testing on all genres they overall do a great job being sports orientated earphones and when maxed out the noise cancelling is decent given there is no ANC profile here.

There are ample controls here with the ability to access your voice assistant skip and reverse tracks manage calls and control volume. I did find at times the skip and reverse tracks function a bit dodgy but over time will see how it goes but having big fingers could be part of the problem there.

Overall these do a decent job can be taken anywhere being IPX5 rated and have a solid battery life
