Official Google Pixel 10a case review (fog)

The Google Pixel 10a is the lates a series device from Google and as I always say and do is case up I do this with all phones and as a Pixel device is in my hand all year round the firs tthing to do is get a case this is the official case and we have others coming so watch out for those reviews soon and of course the Pixel 10a itself which is almost done with a full hands on review.

This case is simple and to the point it covers all corners leaves access to ports and speakers and gives you additonal grip, there is a lip on the front which also allows for screen protection so it can be placed face down and of course rear down since the little edge is now gone from the camera area.

The buttons are tactile and work well making the case experience overall better to have on than off and yes many like the naked feel of their phone but it is better to be safe than sorry no matter the price of the phone.

There is no Magnet in the case so keep that in mind but it still charges wirelessly which is fine but for putting if you are a house full of MagSafe accessories like phone stands and the likes you might want to get another one.

Drop-tested for hundreds of hours. Designed to match the shape and colour of your Google Pixel 10a and keep your phone protected and beautiful.

With hundreds of hours of drop-testing, the Google Pixel 10a Case is proven to defend against everyday ‘oh no’ moments. And its stain-resistant silicone stands the test of time.

Made specifically for Google Pixel 10a, this ultra-smooth case fits perfectly with the camera design. Match it precisely to the colour of your phone, or mix things up for a fresh look.

The case is designed together with the phone for seamless charging, clear audio and uninterrupted calls. And it’s made with at least 36% recycled plastic.

Google Pixel 8a unboxing walkthrough and first impressions

It is Pixel time of the year and of course the Pixel 8a has dropped in for us to check out and this time around with have a much more lively color which I love by the way in Bay Blue which looks great and stands out in the crowd, and before we go on we have some cases to check out as we always do and a new brand on board which is pretty exciting so stay tuned for that this week..

Out of the box the device stands out immediately and having it in my hands for a few days we will give you our first impressions and later on talk some more on the device, the 8a is a perfect size device dare I say coming from the Pixel 8 pro which I still use and love the 8a is offering more for your money this time around from previous (a) devices and I have seen some say get the Pixel 8 and why bother with this one and could they be right and google shooting themselves in the foot? I do not think so as if it was me sporting the 8 right now I would still go for the 8a.

The Pixel 8a has a better footprint and just looks better, OK I typically have the black versions so slightly biased on that front but the camera bar is smaller it feels better and just looks better and has all the features of the two superior models but nothing is better than a new phone and the pixel a series have always been solid for me and I end up sticking to them until the next version comes out which will be the 9 and have done so for years and as I have said many times I always have a Pixel phone on me but I test phones and try others over the course of the year like I am now but the Pixel always sticks with me, in fact I have just moved on my S24 Ultra because I got bored with it but bought that myself like most other devices and I carry an iPhone 15 pro which is a secondary device for obvious reasons but has to be said it is never a main device with a secondary testing sim inside.

With only a few days testing as mentioned this is just an initial first look and so far the device has been flawless given I would have much more going on my phone than others which in itself is taxing on any device. First thing to notice is the adaptive 120hz refresh rate and again I have been open about this most will not notice but as a seasoned phone reviewer I do and it is a good feature to have, the device is as expected fast and fluid or as some say buttery smooth.

Wireless transfer has got better, Pixel 8a and Pixel 8 Pro – techbuzzireland

The back of the Pixel 8a is finished with a matt finish meaning no smudges which is annoying for some and some have critiqued me before for saying so with products that leave fingerprints everywhere which is fine when most of us sport cases on our phones but not all but it is worth noting anyway and for the record I do often take the case of any phone at home where it safe to do so to get a real feel for a device.

The build quality is excellent with aluminium sides rather than plastic and feels better and more robust than previous A devices and with a 6.1 inch 430 ppi  OLED (actua) display it shines and great for media consumption and has a gorilla glass 3 screen which is fine and you have a screen protector on board.

The Pixel 8a features Magic Editor, Best Take and now Audio Magic Eraser which is ideal for content creators or even just the average user, with the AI features on Pixel devices they have grown in popularity over the years and provide simple to use tools for anyone and the cameras are again great with some samples below for now and we even got to see some of the northern lights for a few minutes which was not expected where I was.

Wireless charging (18w) is on board which for me is great but seems to be a bearbug with many folk these days when omitted and if like me with wireless charging docks all over the house and in my car it is a must have and mainly for convenience but as a tech guy I am lucky to be in a position where I have these chargers all over the place and adopted it early.

Overall for the past few days using this device very carefully with no case ( first time to take a phone out with no case but used carefully) I have been impressed so far and with the loads I put on my phones they are by no means used lightly with all the daily tasks I use my phones for with social media emails docs web browsing and other calls with Google meet zoom and teams it has proven again a worthy device so far.

Battery life I can’t comment on just yet as I have not had it long enough to give a good indication vs older models but over the last few days it has been solid enough but not put to the full test due to being off at an event and a wedding plus embargo reasons and not on full view but so far so good and I would not expect anything less, stay tuned for more on the Pixel 8a and case reviews coming this week and then I will be going full on with this device loaded up to the hilt with apps as you will see in the unboxing video below and again now already can say it will be a daily driver until the next model arrives.

Tech Review – Noreve – Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 leather cover

Looking for a new case for your Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 well noreve have you covered here and covered with opulence with their latest case on offer from their line up of cases, not only does the company keep your smartphones covered but they have a full range of products you should check out to give your device a luxurious finish throughout.

Cases are hard to come by here and in general for flip phones due to their complexity but there is a few good ones to check out and noreve is the latest case we have checked out for the device giving it protection all round and a finish that is hard to match, not only that you get additional grip and have access to the cover display without the need to remove the case either, also you can still wirelessly charge the device too which is an issue with some cases made with finely picked leather materials.

As a user of noreve product for some years now I can personally stand over them and I give my phones a good run for their money so the case that is on it does not get an easy ride, I am not one to drop phones much but more so at home especially resting in bed and I nod off or knock it off the bed when it is beside me and there is when the phones get the most drops and a good idea of longevity with cases protecting them, Noreve for me has stood the test of time and is always a conversation when I am out and my phone is placed on a table, Again the price is brought up but it is quality here you are getting and not some cheap job off Amazon which I have recently had to point out with a leather case from a certain brand who has yet to respond, Noreve also have great customer service to go with their high end products, Needless to say we will not be using that brand again for non existent customer care alone.

Tech Review – INSTAX Pal from FUJIFILM

The INSTAX Pal from FUJIFILM is the latest new gadget on offer and has been a huge hit in my house and with friends that have seen it, how it works is also really great and simple to use and you can connect to compatible printers from the brand too, not only that it also comes with a brand new app which is again simple to use and we go through this in full in the video review below which gives you an insight if you have not yet pulled the trigger on this tiny little camera which should be a gift on your Christmas list this year for sure.

Size is of the importance here and no you do not need to carry a printer with you unless you want to hand out snaps there and then which I guess has been the brands main points over the last few years since they were introduced, for me it is all about the size of the INSTAX cam which is tiny and mega portable and can be used remotely by your phone too via the app or use the shutter key on the rear which you can pre-record the shutter sounds if you wish to do so and you should sure why not the feature is there so avail of it and surprise the folks the other end of the camera.

Note compatible INSTAX – INSTAX mini LinkINSTAX mini Link2INSTAX SQUARE Link and  INSTAX Link WIDE smartphone printers.

The camera itself has simple functionality which is great to use, there is two apps you can use or just print directly from the Pal camera, you have main shutter button and you have a switch on the bottom showing F and L being Fun and Link you can also tilt the printer to change modes if you wish, we show you all this in the video review below. You can also add storage via micro SD card or store locally.

With the apps you can get super creative and create slides and videos add text, colour, design and much more which is what I like most here and it does more than just print images, this has been present before so if you are familiar with these cameras you know the story if you are creative you can get creative with what is on offer, again see the video and samples if you are not familiar with the options at your fingertips here.

I am by no means a professional photographer nor ever claimed to be but the camera takes nice pictures which you will see on your smartphone the prints may not reflect this at all times but it is best used in brighter scenarios there is also a flash on the PAl camera which helps the situation though and in short it is about fun here and simplicity and most importantly having a photo there and then in your hand as I always say with INSTAX printers and cameras, as mentioned you don’t need to carry the printer as the images taken will transfer across anyway you can save them for later on though after being out testing it is best to have it with you and have prints at the ready be it for family or friends in the office or at home.
