E-Clean System Installed at the Guinness Storehouse

Euro Refrigeration Limited, part of the ERG Group, has unveiled its pioneering E-Clean chemical-free glass washing system with a high-profile installation at the Guinness Storehouse and the Guinness Open Gate Brewery in St. James’s Gate, Dublin.

The project began with a full trial of the system at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery, where it was extensively tested in a live brewing and hospitality environment. Following the success of this trial, the system was rolled out across all glasswashers in the Guinness Storehouse, Ireland’s number one visitor attraction with more than 1.7 million visitors annually. This ensures every guest experiences a perfect pint served in perfectly prepared glassware.

The E-Clean system, distributed exclusively in Ireland by Euro Refrigeration, allows glassware to be cleaned without detergent or rinse aid. The result is a brilliant shine, enhanced presentation, and superior lacing – all essential to delivering the “perfect pint.”

Developed with the hospitality industry front of mind, the system delivers both sustainability and performance, helping pubs, hotels, restaurants, and clubs to improve customer experience while reducing environmental impact. It also extends the life of glassware, prevents common issues such as streaks, lines, or chemical residues, and keeps machines scale-free.

E-Clean is not simply an innovation – it is a redefinition of how we approach glass care in hospitality. We are proud to deliver a smarter, greener, and more efficient solution that aligns with the industry’s growing focus on sustainability,” said Peter Wynne, Director, Euro Refrigeration Limited. “We are delighted that, following its successful trial at the Open Gate Brewery, the Guinness Storehouse has adopted E-Clean as its glass-cleaning system of choice.”

At the heart of the system is advanced filtration and reverse osmosis technology, produced in partnership with Aquaphor, a global leader in water treatment innovation. Through ERG’s exclusive distribution in Ireland, this world-leading technology is now available to hospitality venues as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional glass washing methods.

The official launch took place at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Dublin and was attended by leading members of the licensed trade, representatives from Diageo, and the ERG Group.

Guinness Enterprise Centre welcomes its 1,500th resident start-up

Guinness Enterprise Centre, the not-for-profit entrepreneurial superhub, today announces that it has surpassed the 1,500 resident companies mark as it welcomes QuizWizards to its five-storey start-up campus in The Liberties, Dublin 8. QuizWizards is now one of the Guinness Enterprise Centre’s 160 resident companies as four start-ups graduate.

The Guinness Enterprise Centre has been supporting start-ups and helping them grow for 25 years. Companies graduate when their staff requirements exceed the space they occupy in the Guinness Enterprise Centre. Urban Fox, Mobility Mojo, Move Ahead and Singular Artists are now all graduating from the superhub, which is Ireland’s largest start-up campus. Each company has grown from initial team sizes of between three to eight people while in the Guinness Enterprise Centre. Upon graduating, Urban Fox now plans to grow from a team of eight to 15, while Mobility Mojo expects to grow from eight to 20 – both by year-end 2026, in Ireland and overseas.

As resident companies grow and look to expand their operations, new start-ups take their place. They can avail of the Guinness Enterprise Centre’s space, ecosystem and supports, which include a Sustainability Cluster, led by Techies Go Green, which helps sustainability-focused companies to scale.

The latest graduates will be replaced by The Safer Plug Company and Archetype, along with the 1,500th resident, QuizWizards. Founded by Rory McEvoy, QuizWizards is a gamified sports technology company specialising in quizzes that promote fan engagement and help businesses and organisations to learn more about their customers. It recently signed a deal with Leinster Rugby to provide unique fan engagement solutions at matches and via social media.

The Safer Plug Company develops pipeline isolation technology, which creates safe zones for workers to perform maintenance on pipes, while Archetype is an events and experiences agency producing events with a focus on communities and culture.

Resident start-ups contribute €2M per year to the Guinness Enterprise Centres revenues. As a not-for-profit organisation, the Guinness Enterprise Centre reinvests revenues back into its operations. Recent investments have included a major IT project, along with upgrades to the Guinness Enterprise Centre’s conference rooms and event space to support collaboration and networking.

Niamh Collins, Centre Director, Guinness Enterprise Centre, said: “Our goal is for resident companies to outgrow us and this milestone reflects the significant impact that the Guinness Enterprise Centre is having on Ireland’s start-up ecosystem and wider economy. By giving innovative businesses a home where they can succeed, grow – and outgrow – we are nurturing the unicorns of tomorrow.

“QuizWizards exemplifies the innovation and energy that we see in the Guinness Enterprise Centre every day. Our world-class campus is the ideal foundation for QuizWizards, along with The Safer Plug Company and Archetype, to scale their businesses. At the same time, our graduating companies will have grown their teams significantly by the end of next year. As a nonprofit, our success is our start-ups’ success and this milestone is a reminder of our combined efforts.”

Rory McEvoy, CEO and Founder of QuizWizards, added: “We are immensely proud to be the 1,500th company through the Guinness Enterprise Centre’s doors. The energy, support, and network here have given QuizWizards a real boost as we expand our team. What stood out was the warmth and genuine interest the staff showed from day one — you’re never just a number here.

“The flexibility to grow our office space has been hugely valuable as we ramp up, having raised €750k to date, including recent investment from Enterprise Ireland. We are now making waves in global fan engagement, working with Leinster Rugby, AIG, the NCAA, Phoenix Suns, HaytersTV, and appearing on NBC, ESPN, and FOX — and being based at the Guinness Enterprise Centre is a big part of that journey.”

From Dublin to Dubai: Swapping Rain for Robots

There’s nothing like swapping the drizzle-soaked streets of Dublin for the sun-scorched boulevards of the UAE, especially when you’re behind the wheel of something that makes heads turn. And let’s be honest, Bugatti hire Dubai is about as far from your everyday runaround as you can get. One minute you’re dodging puddles on O’Connell Street, the next you’re cruising past the Burj Khalifa with enough horsepower under your foot to make a racehorse blush.

From Guinness to Gadgets

For most Irish folk, Dubai is already on the radar for its skyscrapers, gold souks, and beaches that look straight out of a postcard. But what really sets the place apart is how it’s turned itself into a futuristic playground. We’re talking autonomous taxis, drone deliveries, robot baristas – it’s like stepping into tomorrow.

While Dublin has its fair share of tech hubs and innovation, the scale of it in Dubai is something else entirely. Here, they don’t just think big – they think outrageous. You’ll find AI-powered police patrols, driverless metro lines, and malls where robots greet you before you’ve even had your morning coffee.

Why Go for the Bugatti

Now, you might be wondering: “Why in God’s name would I rent a Bugatti for a few days?” The answer is simple – because you can. If you’re already in a place that’s obsessed with luxury and speed, why settle for anything less than the full experience?

Yes, it’ll cost you more than a weekend in Galway, but it’s not about the practicality – it’s about the craic. There’s something deeply satisfying about hearing that engine growl as you glide down Sheikh Zayed Road, with the desert on one side and the Gulf on the other. Besides, in a city where Lamborghinis are as common as Toyotas back home, a Bugatti is your ticket to standing out.

A Tech Lover’s Paradise

Dubai isn’t just for petrolheads – it’s a haven for tech enthusiasts. The Museum of the Future is a must-see, with exhibitions that make even the most cutting-edge Silicon Docks start-ups look like they’re still playing with Meccano. There’s also the Expo City district, still buzzing with innovation since Expo 2020, where you can walk through pavilions showcasing everything from smart agriculture to space travel.

And if you’re into retail therapy, the Dubai Mall’s VR Park will blow your mind – think roller coasters without the queues, zombie shootouts without the bruises, and flight simulators that could trick your mam into thinking you’ve actually gone to space.

Top Routes for a Bugatti Blast

Dubai to Abu Dhabi – Smooth motorways, jaw-dropping skyline views, and a quick jaunt to see the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

Jebel Jais Mountain Road – A driver’s dream. Hairpins, elevation changes, and scenery that makes you want to stop every five minutes for a photo.

The Desert Loop – Early morning runs through the dunes when the air’s cool, the roads are empty, and the only thing in your rear-view is a trail of sand.

Wrapping It Up

Whether you’re a tech buff, a speed demon, or just an Irish lad or lass looking for a change from soggy weekends, Dubai delivers in spades. With its blend of cutting-edge innovation and unapologetic extravagance, it’s the sort of place where swapping your Leap Card for a Bugatti key fob actually makes sense – at least for a few days.

So pack your sunnies, charge your phone for all those “look at me now” photos, and get ready to trade the rain for robots. Dubai’s waiting, and it’s ready to blow your mind.

Guinness WhatsApp Mini Fridge for Fathers Day Scam

Another day another scam has just landed on WhatsApp and this time Guinness maker Diageo are apparently giving away free mini fridges full of beer for Fathers Day which is quickly approaching, in fact I got two of these text in succession and you can see the screenshots below as what you will see on your device but do not open the link.

In the so called quiz you will be asked a few questions then you will be given three chance to open a parcel and it is most likely you will be told you won with so many mini fridges left which changes every time you enter, so it is certainly a scam and it should be ignored

We have contacted Guinness for a statement on this and will revert back if we hear back from them. As always you should be vigilant and if it looks too good to be true it most likely is and there is many scams doing the rounds of late so beware. Update! A spokesperson since has stated they have nothing to do with the scam.

Guinness Enterprise Centre launches Health@GEC Cluster in partnership with St. James’ Hospital

The Guinness Enterprise Centre (GEC), Ireland’s largest incubator in the heart of Dublin City and home to more than 160 innovative start-ups, today launched Health@GEC, a unique healthcare innovation cluster that connects and enables greater innovation within the sector by fostering collaboration between start-ups, medical practitioners, patients, and problem-solvers.

Following on from its partnership with St. James’ Hospital (SJH) – Ireland’s largest acute teaching hospital – the GEC hosted an event at the centre to launch and showcase some of the activity already underway and to seek new partners to join this successful ecosystem. Twenty healthcare companies are already engaged with the cluster, ranging from early-stage start-ups to established international organisations.

Innovation projects currently in progress include those focused on specialised clinical research and training, with others involving technologies to support patients – both bedside and outside the hospital setting – alleviating capacity issues which remains a universal challenge faced by healthcare systems worldwide.

The cluster has also attracted interest internationally from non-clinical partners who are eager to participate, as well as major global healthcare players. To date, this has included visits from the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world, and the hosting of a visit from the Enterprise Ireland, Global Healthcare Forum earlier this year.

Beyond commercial engagements, the Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Programme, a partnership between campus colleagues SJH and Children’s Health Ireland (CHI), has been working with the GEC on a pilot programme whereby a multi-disciplinary team supports adolescents and young adults living with cancer in a non-clinical setting. It also engages with guest speakers and entrepreneurs – all keen to support these young people in an innovative model that may be expanded next year.

In preparation for the opening of the new children’s hospital at SJH campus in Dublin, CHI has also been using the GEC as a base for innovation workshops and upskilling healthcare workers to use Design Thinking to help solve complex challenges. CHI joins Health@GEC as an ecosystem partner, significantly increasing the potential for collaboration and open innovation for the group. The SJH/CHI campus, offering a full suite of ‘womb to tomb’ health services, will rank amongst the largest and most contemporary and comprehensive Academic Health Sciences Centres in Europe – employing in the region of 10,000 persons when fully operational.

Speaking at the event, Orla Veale, Programme Director for the Academic Health Science centre, said:

“St James’ recognises the value of open innovation to ensure it remains a leading healthcare organisation nationally and internationally, but also to continue to meet the needs of our patients into the future.”

Paul Anglim, Health Lead at GEC added: “Health@GEC promotes innovation in health by linking healthcare providers and institutions with companies and a supporting ecosystem of partners and investors. It is a hub from which innovators can access the network, locations, supports and people to bring their product to market successfully, thereby improving patient outcomes and new product adoption.
