Getting emails from Just Eat saying you ordered food when you didn’t? You are not the only one

So there I was at home eating my dinner today and my phones go off with a message and it was from Just Eat and I am like WTF is this I did not order food and why would I when sitting down at my table and nobody has access to my account.. Then the next obvious thing is that came to mind.. Scam.. Nope! Next of all my partner gets the email and I started laughing and said OK they must be hacked and then my DMs on social media had several messages about the same thing and I began to wonder..

So here is the story lads it is not a scam they have not been hacked and all is fine according to Just Eat Ireland but then I had a look on social media and people in the UK are now having the same issue. So what it is after checking is backlogged emails from your last orders and ours here was last Friday even though we already got the said emails but it still looks fishy..

So I checked my partners orders and asked others to do the same whilst I got in touch with the company here in Ireland and here is what they told me.  So hopefully this will be fixed soon and all is OK and not a scam for once. We hope that it is just a bug. So if you do get the email check your last order and the order number and so on should tally up. Let us know if you got the email.

New email scam claiming to be from An Garda Síochána

Over the last few days I have received several emails to with the latest scam doing the rounds claiming to be from An Garda Síochána regarding child pornography, and more, see the email in full below, naturally reported to the Garda I have yet to hear back from them which is a disgrace considering the contents in the email and how serious this is. Not only have I emailed them I have tried to get their attention on Twitter too yesterday.

This email will catch some out and probably but most will see that it is indeed a scam, in the email it will claim that your PC will be seized and placed under arrest and slapped on the national offenders registry. As with all dodgy emails just delete them straight away and report to a Garda station, you should get a response there. They have however put out notice today of the scam that was reported yesterday and you should also check their website for more

With the latest HSE cyberattack we have been warned that scams are most likely going to get worse and they have already started, We we be taking a closer look at that later plus the more common ones with couriers as I have just finished up on a series of such that takes a closer look and why this is happening and how to spot them straight away.

This scam is a new one on me though and rather worrying, we have seen this before but personally I have not got it until now and this was used in other instances to try get money from people,  This time around like the HSE attack they are seeking bitcoin for payment and a hefty sum of money but is there any guarantee if you did pay it you would be fine afterwards, the answer is simply NO.  This email is simply called sextortion or blackmail however it does not give you any option to respond to it or pay and after checking the bitcoin abuse database this does seem to be relatively new and the main thing to keep note of here is just ignore this and block the source and hand over nothing if you get anything like it and report to the Garda. Nothing has happened here in this case with all the options given to me. Furthermore evidence of this being a scam is the amount of spelling errors in the email which is pasted below.
