Ecofil Expands into Hospitality Market

Ecofil, Ireland’s leading provider of sustainable bottle filling stations, has officially announced its expansion into the hospitality sector with the launch of a new premium range of bottle coolers and water dispensers, unveiled at the Irish Hotel Federation (IHF) Showtel 2026 Conference which took place last week in Killarney.

The new range marks a strategic evolution for the Irish water solutions provider, which has spent recent years establishing its market-leading outdoor brand, Iconic V. Today, the Iconic V bottle-filling station is recognised as the number one outdoor hydration solution on the island of Ireland, with more than 20 local authorities selecting Ecofil as their preferred supplier of public water equipment.

Peter Wynne, Managing Director of Ecofil, said, “Following the success of Iconic V in the outdoor environment, we are now bringing that same focus on sustainability, design and reliability to the hospitality and wider business sectors. This new range allows us to deliver tailored, high-performance water solutions that meet the specific operational needs of hotels, restaurants and commercial clients.”

During his visit to Showtel, Mr Wynne travelled to the historic Garnish Island, where Ecofil has recently installed another Iconic V outdoor water station. The installation forms part of an ongoing collaboration with the Office of Public Works (OPW) to help eliminate single-use plastic bottles from protected heritage sites.

Mr Wynne added, “Working with the OPW on treasured locations such as Garnish Island is both a challenge and a privilege. These projects reflect our commitment to sustainability and to protecting Ireland’s natural and historic environments.”

Ecofil confirmed that additional innovative products will be introduced in the second half of 2026, further strengthening its position as a leading Irish provider of sustainable water solutions. Ecofil continues to invest in innovation, sustainability and Irish manufacturing as it expands across both public and commercial sectors.

As part of the ERG Group, Ecofil will also benefit from ERG’s long-established reputation within the Irish hospitality sector. With a trusted customer base of over 1,000 clients, ranging from independent pubs to large hotel groups, ERG provides Ecofil with immediate access to established relationships where credibility and service standards are already recognised.

Ecofil Launches Water Refill Stations at Irish Rail Locations

Ecofil, Ireland’s leading provider of sustainable bottle filling solutions in Ireland, has announced the continued rollout of its Iconic-V Outdoor Bottle Filling Station with the addition of Irish Rail locations nationwide. Malahide DART station is the first location under the new agreement. Mr Darragh O’Brien TD, Minister for Transport was present for the installation in Malahide.

The initiative, launched in collaboration with Irish Rail, aims to promote environmental responsibility and reduce single-use plastic among rail passengers. This marks the beginning of a phased national rollout. In the coming week, four additional stations at Bray, Drogheda, Mallow and Limerick will have the Iconic-V Filling Station installed, significantly expanding access to free and clean drinking water for rail users across the country.

The installation at Malahide reflects the busy and diverse footfall the station sees daily from commuters and festival goers to tourists exploring the area. It offers a convenient and sustainable amenity that supports reduced plastic waste and promotes refilling over single-use bottles, aligning with wider environmental goals across the Irish Rail network.

Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment and Minister for Transport, Darragh O’Brien TD said: “Providing free, premium filtered water at our train stations is a simple but effective way to encourage more sustainable behaviours. Initiatives like this, delivered through collaboration with forward-thinking companies like Ecofil, are key to delivering a greener, cleaner public transport system for everyone.”

Jimmy Guerin, Director of Ecofil said: “This partnership with Irish Rail represents a major step forward in our mission to make sustainable hydration accessible and convenient. Having our first unit live at Malahide, especially with the current high footfall around concerts, demonstrates just how impactful our water filling stations can be. We are proud to be supporting both public health and the environment at such a visible level.”

This initiative reflects Irish Rail’s ongoing commitment to environmental innovation and complements broader efforts across the transport sector to reduce the environmental footprint of daily travel. The rollout aligns with government sustainability goals and efforts to reduce plastic waste across the public transport network.

Ecofil designs and manufactures innovative water dispensing solutions that support sustainability goals and reduce environmental impact. As part of the ERG Group, based in Finglas and employing 38 people, Ecofil plays a vital role in helping communities across Ireland eliminate single-use plastics and embrace a greener future.

Ecofil Installs Iconic V Bottle Filling Station at Derrynane House

Ecofil Limited, Ireland’s leading provider of sustainable bottle filling stations, has completed the installation of its flagship Iconic V unit at Derrynane House, the ancestral home of Daniel O’Connell. The timing of this milestone coincides with preparations by the Office of Public Works (OPW) to commemorate the 250th anniversary of O’Connell’s birth.

The new Ecofil station provides a modern amenity for visitors to refill and reuse water bottles, encouraging environmentally conscious behaviour at a site deeply rooted in Irish history. Designed and manufactured in Ireland, the Iconic V units integrate seamlessly into heritage settings while championing sustainability.

This installation is part of a broader collaboration between the OPW and Ecofil, aimed at deploying Iconic V stations across a nationwide network of parks, public buildings, and historic landmarks.

Jimmy Guerin, Director of Ecofil, said, “We are extremely proud of having our Iconic V machine installed at such a meaningful and historic location. Derrynane House holds a special place in Irish history, and contributing to its sustainability journey aligns perfectly with Ecofil’s mission. Encouraging visitors to reuse and refill is a small act with a big impact—and doing that at a national hero’s home makes it even more significant.”

This initiative reflects Ecofil’s ongoing commitment to environmental leadership and its continued partnership with public sector organisations to reduce single-use plastics. The Iconic V water station has been installed in numerous public locations throughout Ireland including sports clubs and arenas, schools, universities and cultural locations. Ecofil is headquartered in Fingal, Dublin.
