BearingPoint renews Leinster Rugby sponsorship as Official Innovation Partner

Management and technology consultancy BearingPoint, has today announced the renewal and extension of its sponsorship with Leinster Rugby as part of a new five-year contract. BearingPoint will continue to partner with the club as their Official Innovation Partner with the aim of helping Leinster realise the potential of its people, technology and ideas.

As part of its new five year contract, BearingPoint will now expand its sponsorship to support the women’s game, with BearingPoint becoming the title sponsor for the Under-17 regional Sarah Robinson Cup.

In addition, BearingPoint will become the new title sponsor for the regional Under-16 Shane Horgan Cup and will sponsor the Women’s Young Player of the Year Award at the end of season awards. Current Leinster Rugby players Tadhg Furlong, Ciarán Frawley, Dannah O’Brien and Ella Roberts are examples of the talent that has come through these underage competitions.

As Innovation Partner, BearingPoint will continue to support the achievement of Leinster Rugby’s goals by providing digital transformation, technology implementation and consulting services.Commenting at the announcement, Gillian O’Sullivan, Country Leader for BearingPoint in Ireland, said: “Leinster Rugby is a well-established high-performance organisation. Over the last five years as Innovation Partner, BearingPoint has implemented a number of innovation projects, from fan engagement, virtual reality experiences and facilitating innovation bootcamps with staff from Leinster Rugby’s Centre of Excellence and Academy.

BearingPoint leads Leinster Rugby on their Journey into the Metaverse

BearingPoint, the official innovation partner of Leinster Rugby, has today hosted a milestone event showcasing the capabilities of metaverse technology for the Leinster Rugby sporting community. In a multi-location demonstration of BearingPoint’s virtual reality (VR) and innovation capabilities, they have unveiled their shared ambition with Leinster Rugby. The metaverse is a digital environment where you can work, collaborate, meet friends and have fun, and Leinster Rugby is looking to lead the way for the future of sport in this digital world.

Business partners, media and sporting stars were in attendance through virtual reality technology in four locations across Europe including the BearingPoint offices in Dublin, London, and Paris as well as the Leinster Rugby Club facilities in University College Dublin. Showcasing the convergence between the physical and digital worlds through cutting-edge technology, guests at the event entered the metaverse and went on a journey from the BearingPoint offices in Paris and finished with a pitchside experience and presentation in a VR built Aviva Stadium developed by the BearingPoint team.

BearingPoint is planning to play a central role in leveraging its VR expertise to enable Leinster Rugby to further engage its fans through immersive experiences and to explore the wider commercial possibilities and potential this technology has in the sporting world.

The event provided valuable learning opportunities for attendees to experience first-hand the benefits and potential of the metaverse. Interest in the metaverse has grown exponentially in the past year which is causing businesses to rethink and change how they can engage more effectively with users online.

BearingPoint//Beyond, a rapidly growing SaaS-based digital platform solution provider announced that it is expanding its operations with the opening of a new Centre of Excellence in Dublin. The new centre will draw on Dublin’s diverse and highly skilled technology talent base to create 50 new jobs over the next three years.

The aim of BearingPoint//Beyond’s expansion in Dublin is to support its growing sales and to improve support for new and existing BearingPoint//Beyond clients in the Nordics, Europe, Americas and Asia. The company intends to enhance its capabilities in engineering, quality assurance, customer engagement and service delivery management.
