LG announces two new members of the G4 family, the G4 Stylus and G4c. #LG #Tech #Mobile

LG have announced some more new devices not so long after the release of the G4 ,we now have two more models to the line up making it affordable with some of the G4 looks and more,these will be a nice addition to the current portfolio.

The G4 Stylus is a 5.7-inch handset, slightly larger than the 5.5-inch display found in the G4. As its name implies, The G4 Stylus includes LG’s versatile Rubberdium™ Stylus, allowing for easy note taking and drawing on the generously-sized screen. Its smaller sibling, the 5.0-inch LG G4c, offers many of the G4’s premium features and styling but in a more compact form factor.

Both G4 Series phones feature 13MP or 8MP rear cameras and 5MP front-facing camera for high quality photos and portraits. Other popular LG exclusives such as Gesture Shot, Glance View and Knock Code™ make both devices more convenient, secure and fun to use. The G4 Stylus inherits the super-fast Laser Autofocus feature found in previous G Series smartphones for sharply focused shots even in dim surroundings. HD quality IPS displays with In-Cell Touch technology deliver a visual experience that is far more immersive and responsive than on most other smartphones in this class.

Smartphones are reducing our attention spans reports study by #Microsoft #Tech #Mobile

There is enough controversy in the news right now about how mobile devices are affecting people of all ages not just the young and the old but all of us,recently being a Doctor saying prolonged time on such devices can be a cause of Autism and then we have some scientists saying they are killing us which has been rubbished by many,this will always be a case for debate so perhaps the Mythbusters should be called in ?

The study found that the average human attention span has fallen from 12 seconds in 2000 to 8 seconds in 2015 which is one second less than that of a goldfish.

The survey carried out by Microsoft found that many will not even make it to the end of this article as 17pc of all page views last just four seconds or less.

“[People] with more digital lifestyles struggle to focus in environments where prolonged attention is needed,” the study says.

Microsoft’s research did find our abilities to multitask have improved.

“While digital lifestyles decrease sustained attention overall, it’s only true in the long-term. Early adopters and heavy social media user’s front load their attention and have more intermittent bursts of high attention,” the study read.

Pay for things with your eyes with a new smartphone from Japan. #Tech #Mobile #Payments.

Just when you think you may have seen it all when it comes to payment methods,Apple watch being the latest we are still far behind here in Ireland when it comes to this kind of technology,even the UK are streets ahead,The adoption rate of NFC is one example,most decent devices now have NFC but it’s rarely used. This new technology is said to be very secure and safe although we may not see this happening here anytime soon,nor would we see the device in question.

Japanese telecommunications company NTT Docomo have unveiled The Arrows NX F-04G. It’s a typical Android device that we are all familiar with a 5.2-inch QuadHD (2,560 x 1,440) display, octa-core processor (2.0GHz quad-core + 1.5GHz quad-core), 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a 3,120 milliamp-hour (mAh) battery. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop.

NTT Docomo says the Arrows NX is the world’s first smartphone to use iris recognition in conjunction with fingerprint authentication.

Electromagnetic Fields and Wireless Technology could be killing us. #WiFi #Technology #Mobile

The age old battle of mobiles,tablets and masts are bad for our health is still a healthy topic.For years on end it’s been argued that this technology is bad for our health causing cancer and so on only recently we have had a report saying too much time on such devices can cause Autism.Below is an interesting argument which some 190 scientists have made an appeal regarding this topic.

WHO’s conflicting stance on risk needs strengthening, say 190 scientists

190 scientists from 39 nations submitted an appeal to the United Nations, UN member states and the World Health Organization (WHO) requesting they adopt more protective exposure guidelines for electromagnetic fields (EMF) and wireless technology in the face of increasing evidence of risk. These exposures are a rapidly growing form of environmental pollution worldwide.

Martin Blank, PhD, of Columbia University, says, “International exposure guidelines for electromagnetic fields must be strengthened to reflect the reality of their impact on our bodies, especially on our DNA. The time to deal with the harmful biological and health effects is long overdue. We must reduce exposure by establishing more protective guidelines.”

And Joel Moskowitz, PhD, of University of California, Berkeley, says, “ICNIRP guidelines set exposure standards for high-intensity, short-term, tissue-heating thresholds. These do not protect us from the low-intensity, chronic exposures common today. Scientists signing the Appealrequest that the UN and member nations protect the global human population and wildlife from EMF exposures.”
