Facebook improves mobile look with new features. #Facebook #SocialMedia #Gif

Facebook just like Twitter are always looking to improve things and with Twitter thinking of removing the 140 character limit Facebook announce new features today for mobile..

With the new update you can make your profile picture a GIF and set temporary images that will change over a period of time which is quite nice. You can simply now add short looping videos that will show up on visiting someone’s Facebook page..

Today we’re starting to test the next step in an obvious evolution of profiles: profile videos. Soon, you’ll be able to film a short, looping video clip that will play for anyone who visits your profile. Profile videos will let show a part of yourself you couldn’t before, and add a new dimension to your profile.

We’re not ignoring profile pictures either; we’ve also built some new features that will help you better let your personality shine through your profile picture. As part of that effort, we’ve started to roll out the ability to set a temporary version of your profile picture that reverts back to your previous profile picture at a specified time.

On profile controls they are now making life a bit easier to change things and showcase your profile they are now adding a space up top which you can curate yourself and you can add up to 5 featured images too so this is a nice touch and you also have control of who sees what..Our Facebook page will be launching soon so stay tuned for that….

Go-Pro have announced a cheap alternative to its current range making the unit more affordable for those who wish to venture into film making on the go.The new unit sports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and is also waterproof.It also weighs just 4.3 ounces which is very light and its also sporting an 8MP camera.It will be available from October 4th at selected retailers costing just $199.

UMi Fair the most affordable smartphone with fingerprint sensor by @Tiwaash #Android #UMi

The next big thing in the smartphone industry which is picking up lately is the fingerprint scanner. Following this trend, not only the dominant players but the less known are experimenting their way through it. This time it is UMi with the newly launched UMi Fair, which is coined to be the most affordable smartphone with a fingerprint sensor.

UMi Fair, which is the company’s latest affordable smartphone with a metal frame and a smooth polycarbonate back. The UMi Fair has a 13 MP rear facing auto focus camera with Sony IMX164 sensor, f/2.2 aperture and dual LED flash. There is also a front facing 2 MP camera.

The device has a 5 inch IPS display with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1 GHz quad core MediaTek processor with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage.The device runs on the Android Lollipop version with a 2000 mAh battery. The handset is priced at just $99 and is available in White and Black colour options.

Meizu launches it’s flagship smartphone PRO 5 with 21 MP camera by @Tiwaash

This is that part of the year where the major smartphones makers are busy releasing their high-end offerings. We had Samsung, Apple to name a few recently and now it’s Meizu to launch its stellar performance device the Meizu PRO 5 in China.

Meizu PRO 5, the company’s latest flagship smartphone with a full metal body, fingerprint scanner and the latest USB Type-C port. The device has a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display with 2.5D glass, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection and resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. PRO 5 packs a very high resolution 21.6 MP rear facing laser auto focus camera with PDAF, Sony IMX230 Exmor RS BSI sensor, 6P lenses, f/2.2 aperture and dual tone LED flash. There is also a front facing 5 MP camera. So there is a lot to offer on board for the photo enthusiasts.

The smartphone is powered by a 2.1 GHz octa core Exynos 7420 processor and is available in two variants – one with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage and the other with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Meizu PRO 5 runs on the Android Lollipop version with a massive 3050 mAh battery.

Meizu PRO 5 with its unibody metal styling and following curves looks extremely appealing the moment you look at it. It’s thin, light and beautiful construction makes a it a befitting contender for one of the best looking devices. It supports fast charging and comes equipped with USB C type. Samsung & Oculus announce a more affordable Gear VR headset #GearVR

Samsung and Oculus has a treat for fans of VR which has been hard to get hold of in Ireland and despite last years Note 4 in which people particularity  bought for over the note Note Edge fans where pretty annoyed and seeked to get the headset elsewhere despite the cost of it..

There is now a more affordable version coming in November which costs $99 which is great value but as for availability here in Ireland it remains to be seen..It will initially launch in the states and will be compatible with the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 edge+, S6 and S6 edge. Also there is to be much more content available too which sounds good.

After much time asking ( The guts of over two years) and people complaining/ campaigning and rightly so especially Windows Phone users,Ulster Bank app has finally arrived on Windows Phone and its free to download right now.This might give a little push for others to follow suit but we shall wait and see as it’s took long enough for this to arrive which still is good news.

Presence App gets motion detection alram on iOS #Prescence #App #Safety

Recently we featured a real handy app called presence alarm which is available on Android and iOS,this app is a cheap alternative to home alarms security but worth checking out if you have a spare device at hand.

A new update for iOS users is available and is FREE for now which allows users to have an alarm sound when motion is detected in the home or where you may have the set up.Too change the settings go into your camera’s Options menu and toward the top is ‘Motion Activated Alarm’ which is Disabled by default. Use the slider to set the camera to Beep 1 time, Beep 2 times, Beep 3 times, or sound the siren alarm when motion is detected orcreate a new rule that says: “If my ‘Front Door’ opens then make my ‘Presence Camera’ beep once.” Now whenever the kids open the door, you’ll hear it throughout the house!Dont miss out and download today.
