New property tech platform aims to make tenant selection fairer and simpler

Irish technology company Bynaric today launched a new B2B software platform to help make processing applications for rental accommodation, and selecting and managing tenants, fair, unbiased and transparent.

The FairSelect platform is aimed for use by organisations in the public sector, including affordable housing bodies, as well as by private rental providers.

Users of the software are able to process and select tenant applications based either on a randomised, lottery-style system, or on a first-come-first-served basis.

FairSelect is already being used by a number of public sector organisations, such as local authorities, including Meath County Council, approved housing bodies, including Tuath Housing and Respond, and the Land Development Agency (LDA).

The platform has a self-service feature for tenants that enables people living in rented accommodation to manage their rental contract, report issues relating to the property they are renting, and pay rent online. It also enables transparency for applicants, who, in cases where demand for the rental accommodation they have applied for exceeds supply, can find out where they are in a queue system.

Announcing the launch of FairSelect, Aria Pour, founder and CEO of Bynaric, said: “We believe in a fair and unbiased tenant selection process, and our innovative FairSelect technology uses a random selection process that reduces the potential for human bias and ensures that every applicant is assessed on an equal footing. Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 line-up expands with two new models, Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 and 4 Lite, respectively equipped with a 600W and 300W motor capable of reaching a maximum speed of 20km/h2 . With a capacity of 7,650mAh, Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 is able to cover distances of up to 35 km on a single charge, easily overcoming gradients of up to 16%. The capacity of 4 Lite version, on the other hand, is 5,200mAh, providing a range of 20km.

The drum brake on the rear wheel of Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Lite, together with the E-ABS system on the front wheel, reduce the braking distance, thus ensuring greater safety. Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4, on the other hand, features an improved dual-action disc brake on the rear wheel for optimised control efficiency; together with the E-ABS system on the front wheel, the braking distance will be much shorter.

Both products can be connected to the Xiaomi Home app via Bluetooth to check speed and charge in real time, update firmware and monitor driving data.

Xiaomi Pad 6: Built for work, designed for ease

Xiaomi Pad 6 features a thinner and lighter unibody design compared to the previous version and an elegant metal finish. The device is powered by Snapdragon 870 Mobile Platform and is equipped with an 11″ LTPS LCD screen with WQHD+ resolution, up to 144Hz refresh rate, 309 ppi, Dolby Vision® and HDR10 support.

Sustainable e-fuels could meet half of Ireland’s future aviation demand, create 10,500+ jobs and reduce CO2 emissions

A new report from leading representative body, Hydrogen Mobility Ireland (HMI), has today made recommendations on how the development of a domestic hydrogen ecosystem can facilitate the production of sustainable e-fuels for use in aviation and shipping transport. The report was launched by Minister Simon Coveney at ESB’s headquarters in Dublin.

According to the report, the process of creating sustainable aviation fuels derived from hydrogen (e-SAF) for use in commercial aircraft has the potential to create more than 10,500 jobs across Ireland by 2050 – equivalent to a total Gross Added Value (GVA) of up to €230 million per annum, increasing to more than €2.1 billion through allowing Irish businesses to tap into the global market.

The report makes a number of recommendations to enable Ireland to develop a domestic e-fuels sector, to include:

 

  • Feedstock security: Sufficient supply of renewable energy must be sourced to secure the hydrogen required to produce e-fuels, which could be leveraged through Ireland’s significant wind generation capacity.
  • Revenue certainty: The Government must provide clear and committed e-fuels policy commitments to reassure private investors and project developers.
  • Technology de-risking: To safeguard future investment, planned hydrogen and e-fuels projects must receive sufficient funding to ensure their viability.

Across Europe, there is broad consensus on the central role of e-fuels in transport decarbonisation efforts with France, Germany, Sweden and Norway all fully committed to an alternatively-fuelled future – and this has been supported by strong policy signals from the European Parliament.

Aviation and maritime provide essential connectivity for Ireland, inward and outward. HMI contends that planning and action for the full decarbonisation of these sectors must start now. Alternative liquid fuels (e.g. biofuels and e-SAF), electrification and gaseous fuels (e.g. direct use of hydrogen in fuel cells) will all play roles in the full decarbonisation of the transport sector.

Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Simon Coveney T.D. said: “Developing green hydrogen production at scale has clear and obvious benefits for Ireland – from creating a network of highly-skilled jobs, to decarbonising key sectors of our economy and society and building a resilient energy system. I welcome this report, which notes the potential for e-fuels to contribute to Ireland’s economic development, while stimulating crucial inward investment. Going forward, Ireland is uniquely positioned to export as both a net producer of green hydrogen, and as a producer of renewable fuels derived from hydrogen. It is therefore imperative that Ireland’s hydrogen potential is fully realised – and the Government is taking important steps to achieve this”.

Through strong policy commitments from both the European Parliament and across the Member States, it is evident that e-fuels produced from hydrogen will contribute significantly to decarbonisation efforts in both the aviation and shipping transport sectors.

Ireland must now signal its own intent in this regard through concrete actions; leveraging the country’s significant wind energy capacity to facilitate the production of e-fuels, allocating sufficient funding to planned and future e-fuels projects and committing to a defined strategy to meet EU e-fuels targets. Doing so, will enable the growth of a domestic hydrogen and an e-fuels ecosystem which collectively, can create thousands of jobs, decarbonise transport and other industries, and open up access to a thriving global marketplace”.

National Broadband Ireland scoops marketing award for National Ploughing Championship presence

The National Broadband Ireland (NBI) stand at the National Ploughing Championship, produced by creative agency, CMS Marketing, has been awarded a silver medal at the Promotional Marketing Association APMC awards.
