Last year an app was launched to help make life easier to purchase gifts for the loved ones in your life called PressieMe. PressieMe really is a simple solution for a an age old problem. What is the best gift that I can get for someone special? Well the answer is to let them tell you. This app was built to let people send gift suggestions to each other with a picture, message and location so that the sender can let the buyer know where to get it.
This year the app has now got a nice update..
We have added lots of new features like more categories, map icons, tooltips, contacts, better layouts … and most importantly a “Follow Retailer” feature so you can get great gift suggestions from your local retailers.
The latest from NUU Mobile has dropped in and that is the all new NUU G2 which is an affordable premium smartphone. This really looks well out of the box and buyers will be happy to know you get a case in the box so you are covered straight away. In the video below we unbox and take a look at the system UI and see what is on offer for your hard earned cash. On board too is a massive 4000 mAh battery 5.99 inch display with an 18.9 aspect ratio 1.5 ghz processor a finger print scanner and 20MP and 13 MP cameras respectively. To top that off this is a dual sim device which is something the consumer likes to have.
Wireless charging is still a very slow trend here in Ireland but slowly gaining attention due to more smartphones now having it built-in and not relying just on standard charging and when you get used to the idea you will not want to go near a plug again and will just like to drop that phone down and that’s it.
Recently I reviewed another product which made life simple and this product also follows suit with its execution. Not only does it look well its built well too and has a nice rubberized texture throughout. On one side of the unit we have a power key and a row of LED lights to give us a power status level and if charging wired or wireless. There is one micro usb port and one USB port so there is nothing difficult about it when it comes to set-up. You can in fact charge two devices at the same time here.
On top there is 12 suction cups which keep your phone in place which is quite secure if your device has no case or it also holds onto clear gel or plastic type cases too. You can use this unit in two ways. Either via Qi charging when you set the device on top or with the built-in 5000 mAh battery on board you can carry it with you and keep your device attached and still take calls on the go. The unit is around the same size as an average smartphone but obviously thicker but not heavy.
What I like here is the execution and how it can be used with simplicity either at home or on the go and again in the office you are covered and especially with the juice on board which would suit anyone on the go or for those who suffer with battery anxiety you can connect direct with a cable or use wirelesly on the move and again this will easily fit into a pocket too.

Includes 1x 2.1A USB port to charge up two devices simultaneously

I have been using STM bags for a few years now and they are my chosen product to carry my tech goods about which I use daily as they are robust and reliable and I have never had an issue with them. The New Myth collection once again highlights the great build quality and functionality of these bags and I can recommend these with ease if you are looking for a new bag to hold your expensive cargo.
The Myth line is comprised of a 28L capacity backpack, 18L backpack, laptop brief, and laptop sleeve, as well as two storage accessory items—the Must Stash and the larger Dapper Wrapper. Each pack and brief boasts abundant storage, divided into roomy sections that easily house daily essentials: a laptop, tablet, phone, and documents (the roomier backpacks even have enough space to house incidentals such as a lightweight jacket or lunch bag).
Suspended tech cells for digital gear provide ample protection for fragile contents, and numerous zippers and pockets throughout the bags help ensure that all smaller items (batteries, cables, pens, etc.) remain organised and safely in place. Check out the in depth look at the Laptop Brief below in the video.
We love to take pictures and that is a given and in Ireland we are no different to anywhere else in the world. The Midlands is full of astonishing landscapes as well as popular historical sights and therefore one of the top destinations in Ireland and also perfect for holiday breaks!
Naturally, many people like to share their adventures and what they experience on Instagram every day. The folks at the Maldron Hotel Portlaoise asked themselves: “what are the most Instagrammed spots in the Midlands?”
For their in-depth research, they analysed the most popular locations in the Midlands using over 30,000 hashtags to see which spots in Co. Offaly, Co. Laois, Co. Longford and Co. Westmeath are posted most on Instagram by locals and tourists. It is a nice spot down there and I have stayed in this hotel myself and there is much to see and do.
The Top 10, in list format are:
1. Clonmacnoise
2. Birr Castle Gardens
3. Rock of Dunamase
4. Emo Court
5. Lough Ree
6. Lough Boora Discovery Park
7. Sean’s Bar
8. Charleville Castle
9. Lough Ennell
10. Slieve Bloom Mountains
Lifesize®, a global innovator of video collaboration and meeting productivity solutions, have announced the launch of Lifesize Dash™, a software-based solution for real-time video collaboration designed for mini meeting spaces and affordable for organisations of any size.
“Mini spaces and huddle rooms are quickly becoming the go-to location for meetings in today’s fast paced, collaborative environment,” explained Craig Malloy, CEO of Lifesize. “We designed Lifesize Dash as a way to help maximise productivity in these spaces while still offering the benefits of larger meeting room solutions. Now, companies have another option that is simple, cost-effective, and above all else, intuitive for their users.”
According to Frost & Sullivan, many of the 32 million small meeting spaces or “huddle rooms” in offices around the world go largely unused because they lack anything more than a phone for team members to communicate and collaborate together. Lifesize Dash cost-effectively transforms these underutilised rooms into collaboration hotspots, empowering more teams to be more productive more often.
Lifesize Dash uses WebRTC technology to enable video, audio and web meetings on inexpensive Chromeboxä devices from Acer and Asus and offers easy-to-use meeting controls, centralised management and automatic updates for a truly effortless meeting experience. Lifesize Dash seamlessly integrates with a variety of third-party USB cameras and audio devices including AVer, Logitech, Huddly, MXL and others, so customers can create the best meeting room solution for their unique needs.
Lifesize recently completed an extensive beta test program for Lifesize Dash with overwhelmingly positive feedback. The program involved more than 90 participants, including current customers and evaluators interested in a low-cost mini room video solution, and influencers looking for innovative solutions to recommend to their audiences.
“It’s really simple to setup and use,” said Marius van Wyk, director of operations and technical at SkyGroup Communications. “The quality is surprisingly good. Great software solution for small huddle spaces.”
Existing and new customers who subscribe to the Lifesize cloud-based service (Between Oct. 30, 2018 – Jan. 31, 2019) will receive a free Lifesize Dash subscription. For more information about Lifesize Dash, please visit www.lifesize.com/video-conferencing-solutions/lifesize-dash.
