Meters Music, the British music and audio innovator, introduces its flagship 2020 headphones, the state-of-the-art Meters OV-1-B-CONNECT. In addition, Meters also has launched its brand new mobile app, Meters Connect, to allow greater control of the headphones when paired.
The Meters OV-1-B-CONNECT headphones features both wireless aptX HD Bluetooth technology and a high-quality active noise-cancelling (ANC) function – creating both optimal ease-of-use and state-of-the-art sound performance.
The headphones are among the first on the market to use the new QCC5124 System-on-Chip (SoC) from Qualcomm – the newest Bluetooth technology which delivers the highest-quality wireless transmission. It can transmit up to 24-bit and High-Definition (HD) audio – ‘better than CD’ – direct to your headphones, wirelessly. The design has also been given a dash of musical style by Meters’ signature design feature: the fully functioning VU meters (positioned on both sides of the headphones) that react and move in real time to the volume of the incoming musical signal. These VU meters allow you to listen responsibly, they are line-level signal indicators calibrated to EU listening standards and designed to make others aware of how loud your music is. This can be seen as a safety feature as listening to loud music for prolonged periods of time can cause severe hearing damage.
This stylish design is a nod to the glittering musical legacy that accompanies Meters’ headphones, derived by the team behind the headphone brand – Ashdown Engineering. Manufacturers of guitar and bass amplifiers, Ashdown have supplied music stars such as Sir Paul McCartney, U2, Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, System of a Down and many more, for 20 years.
As well as being armed with the latest headphones technology, the OV-1-B-C headphones are designed to be as flexible and enjoyable to wear as possible. The high-quality active noise-cancelling function can be switched off when not required and can be used via a wired connection – if you’ve forgotten to charge the battery or need to use them passively, for example.
Also new for 2020 is the Meters Connect app. It allows the ability to issue an over the air update to the headphones but also enables full control of the sound with its 5-band parametric EQ.
Available to download from the App Store or Google Play, the app also offers the ability to style your own personal coloured VU meter with an RGB sweep and brightness control – so you can stand out or blend into any crowd.
Lastly, the app has a phone ‘answer’ function, so you can answer an incoming call on your device merely by tapping a button on the side of the headphones. These tap buttons are also used for the adjusting of volume and skipping tracks, with no need to touch your phone.
