Yesterday Apple announced a trio of new handsets and of course their new watch. However the cheap iPhone some thought was coming never arrived nor did a new tablet or Airpods which left sour taste in some folks mouth but it is what it is. Apple also state they have the best selling watch in the world and their phones are too but with the prices just announced here and they are not cheap it will be interesting to see the uptake on their new prodcuts this year with those prices.

Sim free is the best way to go in my book but you of course will be able to stretch if you go down the operator route which will command a large deposit which again if you are on a plan and only use €20 per month on pre-pay for example forking out the full price on a sim free model would be the best option. You will get it cheaper by the month depending on your bill-pay plan but this is a two year monthly commitment and you are locked in.. NOT GOOD… The cheaper model announced will probably the best seller but no doubt people will be sat outside stores come launch day to throw their money at Apple as always.

Phil Elford, Head of Technology, Argos says:

iPhone

“We are seeing more demand from our customers for larger phones so we’re sure that Apple fans will be delighted by the 6.5 inch size and edge-to-edge screen of the new iPhone XS. We received a record number of pre-orders for the historic iPhone X and think that this year’s model will be just as popular, if not more so, with our customers.

Apple is one of our biggest selling tech brands and we predict there will be huge demand for iPhone XS handsets in the run up to Christmas.”

Apple Watch 4

“Sales of fitness trackers are up 32 per cent YoY at Argos and we’ve also seen huge demand for Apple Watches over the past 12 months, as more and more of our customers look to more closely monitor their vital statistics.

The new Apple watch is much bigger than its predecessors which we think will be a huge hit with our customers, who will be able to see more content on the screen than ever before.”
