The interactive map, produced by Esri, a global provider of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), plots Florence’s current and forecasted storm track along the Atlantic Ocean and onto the East Coast. It then calculates the amount of people who live within the affected area, and provides a snapshot of who they are. CLICKIMAGE BELOW TO ACTIVATE MAP..

For instance, the current storm projection says as many as 11.9 million households and 30.7 million people will be hit. Out of those households, 1.8 million of them live below the poverty line and 4.9 million over 65s are within the projected area. Esri will continue to update the map as the storm progresses. We hope everyone stays safe during this weather event..
