2018 promises to be an important year for the tech industry in Ireland, with a number of events taking place throughout the country. Here are some of the most important events taking place this year:
ITLG Young Innovators – 2 March
The Irish Technology Leadership Group is holding a one-day competition for nearly 700 second level students to imagine and come up with original ideas for how the world might be 50 years from now. The event, which takes place in Shannon Airport, will award prizes for the most innovative ideas, and participants will be vying for a trip to Silicon Valley as the main award.
Dublin Tech Summit – 18-19 April
Huge tech leaders from around the globe will gather in Dublin for the annual Tech Summit to explore and discuss the ways in which the latest digital trends are shaping the world we live in. Startup companies will be given space to showcase what they have to offer, while there will also be an opportunity to take part in workshops run by industry leaders.
MoneyConf – 11-13 June
Following the volatility of cryptocurrency markets in the past year, experts will meet in Dublin in June to discuss the exciting future of Bitcoin and all the other rising alt-coins on the market. It’s estimated that over 5000 people will be in attendance on each day, including some of the world’s leading financial experts.
DigiMarCon Ireland – 5-6 September
DigiMarCon is known as the largest Irish digital marketing event, but it actually takes place in London. This event not only presents all the latest and most innovative technologies, but it will also be great for networking and learning more about social media and content marketing.
Medical Technology Ireland – 26-27 September
Medical Technology Ireland is held at the Ballybrit Racecourse in Galway, and will play host to more than 200 successful Irish tech companies. All the latest medical equipment and devices will be on show at the event, showcasing how successful this industry has now become in Ireland.
