The Nokia brand has hit the shelves again, well when I say that its actually few shelves, Recently the Nokia 3,5 and 6 and not forgetting the 3310 has landed. There is online presence though but as far as in store visibility goes well I will be honest it’s practically ZERO.

Having had one of my guys check out some stores in the city and myself travelling to the South East and beyond I checked some stores too and its actually quite sad to see the lack of advertising be it via posters, live demo models or even dummies, something which is and always has been a key factor with most phones launched. Even in store advertising boards have not a Nokia device on display. Why does this annoy me,because it’s the same thing we have seen in the past with Microsoft/Nokia Lumia devices.

There was not a care in the world for them and if it was not for having an iPhone or a Samsung shoved down your throat you would never know they existed either only for they did have some demos in store but even at the now defunct Windows Phone itself it would be the last phone you would be pointed too before the above,The typical line when you go into a store is “check out the iPhone or the latest Samsung” or particularly with Vodafone they would direct you to their own rehashed Alcatel devices which they are entitled to do, and today its funny as their latest line up matches well will the new Nokia devices 3,5 and 6. Three though are the only store that have models on display despite others selling the Nokia 3310 and Nokia 3.

Another huge issue I have and others is carrier exclusives especially for a new company HMDGlobal whom are now fighting an already over saturated market in the Android space and to see no advertising, no demos and no dummies the consumer will just walk on unless they are particularly looking for a Nokia device or have heard by word of mouth or online, Carrier exclusives should be banned and once again THREE for example who got burned at the stake with the Lumia 800 and ignored Windows Phone later on and left them till last to have in their stores have exclusivity on the Nokia 5 and 6 as for the NOKIA 3310 as I have heard they will not stock this until September.

Exclusivity deals do impact on sales you would be joking to yourself if you didnt think so,this have been proven before, its pissed people off before and just like the Windows Phone days where Microsoft had their head shoved up the in the cloud, they still do today in fact, kept going on with exclusives and also regional deals and phased rollouts and in the end we are seeing the same thing happen yet again with a brand that everyone loves and is trying to make a comeback with the current situation from where I see it. Nokia have a chance to get market share again and with good devices to suit all pockets but things need to change and change pretty quick..

On a side note if you want to purchase an official case for any news Nokia device again it’s a case of ZERO you’ll have to shop Amazon or eBay and even there there’s not much on offer even official cases..
