During the week Virgin, the latest Quadplayer and MVNO network in Ireland announced plans to launch some handsets, 14 Handsets to be exact which is a pretty poor choice for the consumer in my opinion.

Just to refresh here is that very list on offer today…

Apple iPhone 6s 16GB & 64GB
• Apple iPhone 6
• Apple iPhone 5s
• Apple iPhone SE
• Samsung Galaxy S7
• Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
• Samsung Galaxy S6
• Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016)
• Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) – Coming Soon
• Sony Xperia X
• Sony Xperia XA
• Sony Xperia Z5 Compact
• Microsoft Lumia 550

In a statement the following was said…

We’re continuing this with our range of mobile phones, carrying the best brands, the latest phones and keeping it simple. Why sell over 50 phones, when most customers just want to choose from a range of high quality bestsellers like Apple, Samsung and Sony?”

Now take note here –  Why sell over 50 phones, when most customers just want to choose from a range of high quality bestsellers like Apple, Samsung and Sony?”

l550

People want choice, not a locked down portfolio of handsets which is consisting of mainly three brands considering the Lumia 550 is the only device on offer from Microsoft which is why we are here today,to talk about its price structure which is,well ????? They should have opted for the Lumia 650 instead..

The handset can be bought from €79 to €99 be it locked or sim free,Virgin are asking for an up front fee beginning from €40 – €70.. You get unlimited calls text and data in all plans which is not bad but considering the device on offer here and its performance capacity it will be selling very little..

See all or their new devices and plans HERE
