Flayre is not intended as a substitution for your local emergency service contact number, but can be used in conjunction with such events.
The app is ideal for uses in areas of poor coverage with no internet or data connection allowing you to share detailed geographic location information with one click in the app
The Flayre app is an emergency contact platform where you can immediately alert your GPS and Cell location to up to three nominated telephone numbers. Remote Location activation via SMS from any permitted mobile number, Turn Flayre into a GPS beacon so you can get a friends location.
This app is a unique product as it relies on standard SMS network connections, and not a high speed data network to send and receive GPS or Cell ID location information for someone you care about. This makes it ideal for either locating loved ones, or informing of your location with one click of the app if in need to be found in an emergency.
This other major feature of the app is that it can remotely be activated by your trusted contacts to send your detailed location should you get separated or lost. Your trusted contacts need to text the word Flayre to your mobile number and they will receive your GPS or Cell location information.
To enable the remote Flayre activation functionality, check the tick-box on your nominated contact to allow them to request your location. This contact just needs to text the word ‘Flayre’ to activate your position and receive your detailed location. They do not need the app themselves to receive your location.
The app is initially free to download and use for 30 days and then just 2.99 to purchase following the trial. Some may find this a tad expensive but its a good idea and may help you out someday and perhaps also save emergency services time too.. You tell us what you think in the comments.. The app is only on Android for now..
